I am tired too and just had a sandwich spread sandwich, a banana and a piece of white cake. Milk to drink. This has been a long hot shopping day. Tomorrow should be easier, may pick apples.

I have not decided yet, either spaghetti or some Eddy's sliced smoked brisket on buns. If I can't get myself more motivated it will probably be the brisket since I just have to heat it in the oven.

Gals and I played Mexican Train for 4 hours. We were getting giddy by the time we got to to the last few games. Whew!

My spamwich was yummy. I had bugles for the gals, chocolate covered shortcake cookies from Aldi's that we all loved, and delicious dried apricots to munch on. Apricots were small and soft, not like those big ones that are dried and chewy. Sooooo good.

patti, when I go to Ms Myra's for her smoked chicken salad, you buy it by the half cup, cup or pint. No lettuce just the salad with pickles and saltines.

It's Thursday so it's breakfast night..
It will be bacon and scrambled eggs...not sure what else..maybe cinnamon biscuits...

Glad you had a good day again Patti. Going out for lunch is a treat.

We had planned-overs all week. Today was the curry chicken and rice leftovers. Had a warmed pita with it. Last nite was planned-over of the slow-cooker shredded beef on tortilla. Still had lots left so I took some over to my neighbour along with coleslaw.

Our annual 4-day Blues and Brew Festival is starting tonite and hubby and a friend are off to see Steve Earle.

Patti, glad you had a good day but try not to get overtired.

Rained all night & day, got over 7". It needs to stop raining. If anyone needs rain I will send you some.

Dinner for hubby was chili & I had a cube steak. Made a batch of cho. chip cookies.

Glenda, I just know I'd love that smoked chicken salad--this was just mainly chicken in a kind of spicy dressing.

Shirley, that pie was delicious. The crust was sort of like a sugar cookie. Very good. That coney sounds like a winner. I love a good one!

Jasdip, don't you love cooking once and eating twice. Saves a lot of time and a lot of times things are better the second time. And you get some "me" time tonight.

Mary, I've been thinking about you. The news was full of the rains in Tennessee and I was sure hoping you weren't in one of those really bad areas. I'd hate to see you on TV being rescued from your rooftop!! Please pass the cookies :-)

Today was DH's birthday. He's been talking about this one restaurant for about a year now and we never get to it so that's were he wanted to go for his big day. I lost track of time and he came down from his inner sanctum about 5:25, wondering why I wasn't dressed and ready to go. I did a speedy hair and make-up and was ready by 5:45. When we got to the restaurant, I said to hubby, I should have only spent 5 minutes getting dressed. LOL

He now has that one out of his system.....no need to go back. I had baby back ribs (they were actually pretty good and I have half left over for tomorrow night.)

I had quick and easy tonight. Cottage cheese, cantaloupe, grape tomatoes and a (left over) hard boiled egg.

I should eat like that more often, maybe I could lose some weight.

I mentioned yesterday on another thread that I have a Spam spread recipe, and I actually found it today, so I'm dropping it in here.

SPAM BALL

1 can Spam, ground
2 tbsp. minced onion
2 tbsp. sour cream

Mix above ingredients. Form into a ball and frost with the following mixture:

8 oz. cream cheese
4 tbsp. sour cream
1 tsp. mustard
Dash of horseradish

DH still out of town so I am having a BLT for supper.
On bread I baked with my homegrown tomatoes and lettuce.
I guess I should have made some mayo, too.
I will have a glass of milk and a piece of chocolate cake a little later.

I made an easy one pot pasta dish that I saw on Facebook. If any of you are on Facebook, you can find the recipe. Now I even have leftovers.

Linda, I'll bet that's the one where everything is in one pot, using vegetable broth. I want to make it this weekend. How did you like it??? I don't have veg. broth, but I can use water and a bunch of spices. How did you like it?

Jasdip, I bought a carton of Swanson's vegetable broth. It was delicious later when it had cooled and I was ready to transfer it to a container to store it in the fridge. When I ate it earlier, the broth wasn't all absorbed. I bought a wedge of parmesan and grated some of it on the pasta on my plate. Yummy. I am looking forward to having it tomorrow night also.
