It's the latest! Are you going to run out and buy......

a pair? My neighbor showed me his latest shoe purchase....what I call "monkey feet". Vibram calls them five fingers. Says he LOVES them.... You gonna run out and buy a pair?

Oh My Goodness, LOL >> I wonder if they are comfortable !
If they are, I would probably wear them ! I live in Croc look-a-likes and you cant get much uglier than those !

Not for me. I used to have a pair of the 'toe socks'. I hated the feeling of those, so I know I would hate the shoes.

"One word comes to mind... "hoarder". Actually, the word that came to my mind was "dedication". That is an impressive amount of work. Maybe it would be easier to just build a raised bed over that section of driveway? When I was living in a home with little usable land, I looked for unused land nearby, and contacted the owners. You can often strike a deal in exchange for the right to garden, such as rent, property upkeep, or sharecropping. A previous employer allowed me to garden behind the plant, he liked the added security I provided after hours. I gardened on a utility easement, in exchange for cleaning up trash on the property, and on part of a vacant field, in exchange for keeping the rest of the field mowed. I've spent about 30 years gardening on other people's property, usually with water provided... because of those arrangements, my children grew up eating a lot of fresh vegetables. Food for thought.

When ever I tell people I am into bamboo they usually say stuff like "I have some lucky bamboo and I love it" and all kinds of stuff like that. So far I haven't recieved any yet but I am sure some day someone will buy me one thinking "hey Nate will really enjoy this" We will have to see what I do if I get one. I am sure I will look at it an call it an imposter or wannabe. Anywho I guess all I can do is try to educate.

No, we're going a different route, Susan, but I'm sure the foliage would be gorgeous on that highway, since it runs through the mountains. We'll be taking a more southerly route through Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina, missing the mountains, but there may be some pretty foliage there, too. I have an Ancestry.com account, and traced one line on my mother's side back fourteen generations (with proof for every generation) to Arthur Allen, who built a brick house in Surry County, VA near the James River in 1665 that's owned by Preservation Virginia. We'll be touring this house, also known as Bacon's Castle, because Bacon's army took it over during the rebellion. I made up a booklet for my family with each generation documented and interesting information also - it was fun to do, and everybody really appreciated it. We'll also be going to Jamestowne, which is close to the Allen house. I especially want to see the artifacts from the original fort at Jamestowne at their museum. My Daddy had an ancestor who was one of the original settlers there, so it's also personal - I'll be compiling another booklet about this line. When we go through South Carolina, I'll be gathering more information and pictures about this line of my Daddy's and also information and pictures of an old house that belonged to an ancestor of my husband - I'm also researching and writing a booklet about this interesting line of his. Brushed granite.....go for it, or run away....

We have a honed and textured granite. Love the look and feel to it. Having a sealer is important, in my opinion. The granite guys forgot to seal the same counter on my dry bar and I spilled wine on it (hello...it's a bar) and it stained right away. I got most of it off and sealed it right away. I also spilled red wine on the counter in the main part of the kitchen (on the sealed counters) and the wine beaded up and wiped right off. As for the texture, the only thing that I've noticed so far is once my 4-year old daughter was painting on the island and bit of paint got on the counters. Some of it was in some of the "pitting" or texture and so I had to use a little brush to get it out of the nooks. No biggie, it still cleaned up easily. That said, I had a polished granite in my previous home and I think that it was a breeze to keep clean. The honed and textured granite we have now seems a little more "sensitive" if that makes sense. BUT, I wouldn't trade it. I love it! It also has quite a bit of movement to it and you can't see crumbs, dirt or anything. I figure if I ever get a stain, I probably won't even be able to see it. :)

Nope. I'll stick with my Keen shoes. I've got at least 50 pair of Keens, and I love 'em all!

My Chiropractor wears them and LOVES them. They do look like monkey feet but as I get older....comfort trumps looks LOL. They also have socks that you can wear with them.... they are thinner than the regular toe socks, at least that's what Doctor Mark told me. I haven't run out to buy a pair yet though.

I am all for comfort, too but I never just run out and buy something.

My friend has these and runs in them. He can't stop talking about how much he loves them. They would drive me nuts though, I don't like anything between my toes.

I think they would be good for rafting or kayaking.

Carol - I've seen those at the Shoe Tree on Dolliver. They come in several styles. Pricey.

I think they are kinda cute. Can you imagine the foot prints in dirt? Do your toes actually each fit in its own little space, like gloves?

I saw those on "Rizzoli and Isles" the other night. Um. No. I'll pass on them. I continue to resist Crocs, too. And those new "toner" shoes? They're saying they damage your body more than they tone anything.

I've seen them...and actually thought about getting some..I love being barefoot...and this way "I could be" in public..LOL

I would not wear them in public,but Id like to see how they feel on my feet. MIGHT wear them around the house...

Don't think my crooked toes would even fit in those little pockets and would hate to think about trying to tuck them in each and every little space.:)

A lot of runners seem to wear them, saw them on some hikers (it was a "gentle" climb up).

For me, I know they'd be irritating between the toes.

My second and third toes are longer then my big toe... wonder how they would fit! If they are comfortable I would consider but they would have to come WAY down in price! Didn't try the fake crocs until I found a pair for $3.00- LOVE them but have trouble wearing them since my herniated disc (left foot "catches" more than it should.

When one buys stuff that one doesn't need, or have a real use for ...

... instead of adding to one's retirement account/savings/investment plan ...

... one postpones the day of one's (potentially early) retirement, more than likely.

My daughter has had a pair for about a year now. She runs in them and loves them. In fact, she just bought a second pair and sold her first pair to a friend. (She chose a slightly different style this time, but they still are the Vibram 5 separate toes)

Running in them? That is incredible! As my neighbor stood there, he twisted side to side and they seemed to have no support. The soles are not a typical layered tennis shoe support system. Then there's the part where they go between your toes.....
