My Great Bargain I found today...

Met Denny for lunch today...

On the way home I stopped at the Goodwill...

Found a black Kate Spade handbag. Not a mark on it. Lot of dust but I don't think it has ever been used.

My daughter loves Kate Spade...but she usually goes in for the bright color stripes...This one is black fabric on top with the black leather swoop on the bottom and the name embossed in the leather....the interior is beige with little black squares, like poka dots ....I called her to see if she was interested in it...and of course she said yes. So I bought it. For $9.00. Now I'm wishing I would have kept it for myself or for a Christmas gift. (used gift...lol)

She gets tired of things quick..so I'll tell her to save it for me.

My friend Debbie bought her daughter a "Kate Spate" bag knock-off at a Flea Market. I lauigh when I think of it. I had a cute "Gloria Vanderbuilt" outfit, shorts and top, that I got at a Flea years ago. Sounds like you got a great deal, Patti. Congrats!

They can be amazingly hard to locate kitten. You'd think that with the stripes and colors they would stand out like sore thumbs, but they have the ability to just disappear on those plants. Check underneath the individual leaves. If you are going to rescue them, it's best to catch them when they are small and before they fall prey to the wasps and flies.

Thanks for your kind words . . . and your enabling (LOL) ;^D I do have to make one correction, though: the gold & white plates were $1 each, not $2. Patty: girl, you get out a lot! I've seen your bargains, but if you want to zip down here, we can go out bargain hunting together and really do some damage! Jane: you have the turquoise? I saw a few of those recently; they're lovely! I have 4 (or 6?) of the same pattern in the cream and really like them. It's scary when you have so many dishes you can't remember things like that! You should have seen DD yesterday when she saw the 3 new groups of dishes (ROFLMAO). There was a lot of eye rolling! Jeanne: yes, you are a very bad/good enabler! I plan on checking out some tablescape pics here to inspire me. Kathleen: thanks. If you have any pics of white & gold tables, I'd love to see them. I need inspiration. Punk: Thanks! I'm anxious to get started on the plates.

When we go back we will take the good camera, hopefully it can capture more of the colors than the iPad. With the light hitting the stone it really did a number on the colors captured. You can see some of the browns in the top picture from their website if you look near the white spots. Some of the medium grey is that mossy sage green color. I know the granite guy had said a natural cherry or just about any brown would look lovely (I had already told him we aren't doing painted cabs). I admit I wasn't prepared for finding a stone, I may well have just been carried away and not noticed enough detail in the coloring. It really was spectacular in person! I am very much looking forward to taking some doors back up there, hopefully next week. I appreciate the feedback, I will go with an open mind. I didn't have much of a color scheme in mind, other than I wanted medium to dark cabinets. DH wanted dark floors, dark cabinets, dark granite. I was not a fan of the really dark granites he wanted, but this one is dark enough for him, not predominately brown (he does not like brown), and I really love all the colors. So we will work backwards from there!

Australia has a very strict quarantine on incoming plants, that's why. what, you did not know? and of course you'll have to pay for shipping ...a-ha-ha...- makes no sense whatsoever! the cutting won't survive the long process in any case. you prolly can get something similar from Thailand faster and with phyto certificate.

I checked the "is it a real Kate Spade" link

This is what it said about the made in what country tag on the inside. "Until 2002, the China label simply looked like the little made in Taiwan label " I checked and it does...and the embossed stamp on the outside looks the same...Soooooo....now I'm wanting it even more...LOL...but that's okay....My kids are worth it.

Patti, I don't know anything about handbags, but today I rustled a couple of little yellow trumpet vines. I am going to pot them up and yours will be ready first thing next spring. It should have a good root system by then. If I don't remind you....remind me.

Patti..you lucky dog! How great to get a real deal on a Kate Spade purse...or is it pocketbook...or is it a handbag..or purse-a-book, as I call it?? LOL!
