My Great Bargain I found today...

Met Denny for lunch today...

On the way home I stopped at the Goodwill...

Found a black Kate Spade handbag. Not a mark on it. Lot of dust but I don't think it has ever been used.

My daughter loves Kate Spade...but she usually goes in for the bright color stripes...This one is black fabric on top with the black leather swoop on the bottom and the name embossed in the leather....the interior is beige with little black squares, like poka dots ....I called her to see if she was interested in it...and of course she said yes. So I bought it. For $9.00. Now I'm wishing I would have kept it for myself or for a Christmas gift. (used gift...lol)

She gets tired of things quick..so I'll tell her to save it for me.

My friend Debbie bought her daughter a "Kate Spate" bag knock-off at a Flea Market. I lauigh when I think of it. I had a cute "Gloria Vanderbuilt" outfit, shorts and top, that I got at a Flea years ago. Sounds like you got a great deal, Patti. Congrats!

Lucky gal, Of course, the whole thing was a joke (except for the part about me feeling so frustrated because I wasn't coming across any good buys). I got the idea for the stick-ons from others on this forum. I think the first time I saw them, someone had used them on taper candles. The only time I've used them as a serious decorating element is for individual votives. . The flowers and hearts in the original post are little sponge rubbery things they sell at Michael's. I have a bunch of them for art projects with the grandkids. They have paper on the back that you peel off to reveal a sticky surface. The shamrock was stuck on with some rubbery stuff that is used to hold down plates so they won't fall during an earthquake. I lost the original wrapper long ago, but remember finding the stuff at Lowe's. Used the same stuff on the paper ghosts and trees. The stuff rubs right off when you're finished with it.

I want to go shopping with Marilyn too. I see Fresh Thyme is a chain, I was going to say the closest nice farmers market to us won't be open other than weekends until the end of this month...and it's an hour away. We're really short a good local store now with losing our Haggen Top foods to their bankruptcy. Walmart remodeled and added full grocery and there seems to be a wide variety, many choices, of packaged foods, canned, spices etc but I don't buy a lot of those products - I am not impressed with produce, dairy, meats there. That pretty much leaves Safeway. With this weeks sale I paid 87 cents/pound for whole chickens yesterday. 69 cents/lb for cabbage. Asparagus was $2.99/lb and I passed, didn't buy any. Avocados $1.50 each. Not a real bargain in the basket ;-) Nicole, I just went back and read through your figures. Wow. You may take the best shoppers award for the day....

"Elmer, I bet you don't like Rum Chata" mary, this isn't something I've heard of but I looked it up. I don't like the taste of horchata so I don't think I'd like it. But, doesn't it make sense that mixing flavors with spirits is something very different than mixing with wine? That's what a cocktail is, different flavors mixed with spirits. Kahlua, or Baileys, or any one of a number of combos of flavors with spirits, all good. Even different chocolate liqueurs might be of interest. Fruit cake or cookies with rum, etc. Just not with wine. It's not really a mixable thing to my taste.

I checked the "is it a real Kate Spade" link

This is what it said about the made in what country tag on the inside. "Until 2002, the China label simply looked like the little made in Taiwan label " I checked and it does...and the embossed stamp on the outside looks the same...Soooooo....now I'm wanting it even more...LOL...but that's okay....My kids are worth it.

Patti, I don't know anything about handbags, but today I rustled a couple of little yellow trumpet vines. I am going to pot them up and yours will be ready first thing next spring. It should have a good root system by then. If I don't remind you....remind me.

Patti..you lucky dog! How great to get a real deal on a Kate Spade purse...or is it pocketbook...or is it a handbag..or purse-a-book, as I call it?? LOL!
