Animal Rescuers ??

The thread about voting for the animal rescuer made me think about 2 of them here that I have had experience with. I saw a rescuer set up at Pet Co and they had a cat that I liked. A few days later I went to the shelter to look at it again. They had hundreds of cats, it was heartbreaking....the owner was nothing more than a professional hoarder. She had so many cats that were not adoptable and there were very aggressive cats who spent their day attacking the others. They had a ring worm infestation and I was told that they take those cats to the vet and leave them until they are well. I told my vet and he said there is no vet who would do that. There is no way she could gotten rid of the infestation without washing all of the bedding or throwing it out. There is no way that lady could have treated the seriously ill ones, far to many. I was told the owner spent most of her time raising money, I wonder how much of the money went for the cats. I for one would rather be dead rather than live my life locked up all of my life without personal attention. I am sure some are very good but this one was awful. It was all I thought about for a long time. I told Pet Co they should visit the place before they let more cats come from a place like that. They were a little alarmed because other organizations come in and use the same cages. Have any of you gone to visit a rescue center, are they all like that.
