Rowdy's surgery to re sect the bowel is Monday morning at 7;30 AM.They said it is a relatively simple surgery,no new incision.They will go in through the colostomy opening.Also not as painful as the other was because the nerves haven't healed yet.3 days after the surgery they will start giving him formula again then hopefully he will be on his way to getting out of that place and home so we can fatten him up! Please keep him in your prayers in the morning.Thanks

What a little trooper! Rowdy will definately be in my thoughts and prayers. Can't wait to see him all fattened up.

Thanks everyone.Just talked to DDIL and she said he is still out and intubated but they want to keep him low key for a while.They did give him a transfusion today to give him a little boost in healing.So far so good but keep the prayers going. Maryann-Gosh,it doesn't seem possible that your twins are already 31/2! Time flies doesn't it? LOL They moved Rowdy to Lubbock yesterday for the surgery and Jillian is in Odessa.He will be staying there until he is ready to go home in about a month.They said today that Jillian will be in Odessa for at least another week.Lubbock is about 100 miles from where we live and from Odessa.Odessa is 60 miles from here.DDIL is going to ask tomorrow if they can transfer Jillian to Lubbock but I really doubt they will.

DDIL just called.Rowdy weighs 5 lbs. 10 oz.! They told them to start preparing to take him home possibly Friday.I think it will be sooner.LOL

Yes! They could print this thread and add it to his baby book. He needs to know about this 16 or so years from now! LOL We have to watch babies' poop to know their health...whether it's people babies or animal babies. This great news! I'm so happy his tiny little system is working and ready to heal and progress. Rowdy, I'd proudly change your nappie.

Just wanted to check in and let everyone know how he is doing.We just got home and we are having a big thunderstorm so I was kind of leery about trying to post.LOL
Rowdy came through the surgery just fine.He is still intubated but it is mainly because they wanted him to rest a lot today.The surgeon was afraid that some kind of valve or something in there might have been lost with the original surgery.Whatever it is has something to do with the ability to absorb the vitamin B nutrients and could cause chronic anemia.Anyway,it was all still intact so no worry there.She said he should heal just fine with no lasting problems.They will take out the breathing tube sometime tomorrow and will start letting him feed again in about 3 days.They also did his circumcision so he was not a happy camper! He looks really good though,considering what he has been through in the last 28 days! Yesterday was their actual due date.He is so skinny you can count his ribs.I feel so sorry for him.He does love to eat so I don't think there will be a problem getting him fattened up once he can eat again!LOL
Thank you all again for the prayers being sent up from this forum.You don't know how much they are appreciated.I told DDIL about this board and how everyone had responded to all the posts about the babies and the prayers that were being said for them and she cried,and so did I.LOL This has been a very emotional day for all of us and for her especially.She is a pediatric ICU nurse and takes care babies like this every day but when it's your own it's a whole different story!
Little Jillian is doing great too.She is filling out and is not at all spoiled!Yeah,right!LOL
I forgot to take my camera so didn't get any pictures.We are probably going back up the end of the week so I'll take some then.By that time Rowdy should be disconnected from all the extra paraphernalia and we can see what he really looks like.LOL Thanks again everyone.......Lillie

Thank God! I know your family is so gateful that he passed this hurdle too & am praying it is his the LAST one. What a tough lil' guy he is!

Seeing your tiny Grandbaby go through all this added to the heartache of knowing what it's like for your own kids has to be gut wrenching.

So glad little Rowdy came through the operation so well, and I hope it is no time at all until he is fat and sassy. Nothing in the world can worry you like a sick baby. My heart goes out to you and your daughter, and family. Keep us updated!
