Today's Rowdy update

He is doing great! All the tubes and lines are out.He weighs a whopping 4 lbs. 10 oz. and got to start eating yesterday.Poopin and tootin like a little trooper!LOL Possibly will be coming home Thursday or Friday.Thanks again everyone for all the prayers.

Thanks everyone.Just talked to DDIL and she said he is still out and intubated but they want to keep him low key for a while.They did give him a transfusion today to give him a little boost in healing.So far so good but keep the prayers going. Maryann-Gosh,it doesn't seem possible that your twins are already 31/2! Time flies doesn't it? LOL They moved Rowdy to Lubbock yesterday for the surgery and Jillian is in Odessa.He will be staying there until he is ready to go home in about a month.They said today that Jillian will be in Odessa for at least another week.Lubbock is about 100 miles from where we live and from Odessa.Odessa is 60 miles from here.DDIL is going to ask tomorrow if they can transfer Jillian to Lubbock but I really doubt they will.

Thank God! I know your family is so gateful that he passed this hurdle too & am praying it is his the LAST one. What a tough lil' guy he is! Seeing your tiny Grandbaby go through all this added to the heartache of knowing what it's like for your own kids has to be gut wrenching. Bless each of you! Suzi

Glad it went well. If she hasn't already when you go over, move stuff that she needs down to counter level to avoid a lot of reaching up/down. That helped me a lot after my Bilateral Mastectomy. Also, alcohol wipes helped for milking the drain tubes. I bought the small ones that you use for cleaning the skin for a shot. You hold the tube w/ one hand to keep it from pulling the incision and wrap the wipe around the tube and pull down w/ thumb and index finger of the other hand. It hurts like heck if the tube is pulling at the incision!! I also suggest her checking her temp at least twice a day to catch any possible infection early. I ended up in the hospital for almost a week w/ cellulitis and then was on IV abx for a month once I was released.

DDIL just called.Rowdy weighs 5 lbs. 10 oz.! They told them to start preparing to take him home possibly Friday.I think it will be sooner.LOL
