Personally I detest those exposed zippers. Unfortunately that's now considered a design feature. You can purchase dresses with large, shiny zippers running from neckline to butt in most stores.

I tend to agree. I watch a lot of crime dramas like Law & Order or specifically Rizzoli & Isles. I can't count how many times a beautiful woman is wearing skin tight outfits or HIGH heels. What detective would be wearing heels when they potentially will be running down alleyways after criminals?? And what lawyer is taken seriously slutting it up in court?

And in the same note...nearly everywoman I see on TV (Besides Mike & Molly) is a size 0. That is not realistic. I realize sex sells, but it basically sends the lovely message that you are worthless unless you are stick thin.

I find a lot of clothes in the stores also have very plunging necklines. On the fashion shows like Project Runway, the designers emphasize the zipper! Back in my day, they tried to have "hidden" zippers. It will change...in fashion trends, it truly is "what goes around, comes around"

One thing has changed around here to contribute to the neckline plunge. High school girls are buying breast inplants and what to show off their purchase.

I hate it on CSI Miami, when they wear white pants to a bloody crime scene. Then they walk on the beach sometimes all the way to the ocean in those stupid spiky heels they wear! Oh, and their make up never fades~~and their hair is never out of place.

Also their homes never looked lived in LOL I could go on forever~~~~

I am so glad to find others who agree with me on the way so many of the professional women dress on tv shows. Makes you wonder what their true 'professions' are.

It's even with the women news people.Some of them have cleavage that looks like a cavern,and I keep saying"WHY",we want the news,not to see your boobs!!

While I do agree on all of the above comments, I also would like to add that "Hollywood" has always presented too many of the actresses in un-realistic wardrobes. DH watches (after tennis and baseball etc,etc.) old movies. I mean old, old. I checked out Virginia Mayo yesterday...,. in a western...OMGosh she was beautiful, but they are rarely ever dirty, dusty, windblown, without perfect makeup and hair. Not new. We have just found them in places that are more realistic like the office, with the un-realistic 'dressed up' wardrobes that might be appropriate for cocktails or a 'dressed up' evening out. (Who does that anymore?).

On our local news channels, the women seem to wear too-tight blazers. They are pulled tight across the chest and waist.

The weather lady has the wrinkles across the front of her straight skirt, which you are never supposed to have. Everything seems a size too small.

TV isn't much different than real life....I'm a wedding coordinator and had a rehearsal last night...Most of the girls in the wedding party came with the short, skin tight dresses along with the high heels...I'm not too anxious to see what they'll be wearing for the wedding today.......
With myself, I try to get things that are loose and comfortable, can't handle anything tight........

Women newscasters in this area often wear cocktail dresses.

Oh yes, I forgot the shots of women going to bed, or waking up in bed with perfect heavy makeup and curled hair! LOL Don't we all look like that!

Or soap operas, everyone is dressed to the nines with makeup, jewelry etc. Doesn't anyone ever wear a pair of jeans or sweatpants? Guess that isn't very interesting!

I love reading others saying what I've quietly thought for years! I feel heartsick for young women today.

I dress modestly in whatever fashionable styles I can find, but I have narrow shoulders and wide hips, and so many tops are cut wide at the shoulders that I easily show too much skin just standing (definitely if bending). I'm considering learning to sew, just to make tops that fit better.

I've noticed news reporters wearing sleeveless tops and just cringe at the unprofessional way women dress on TV and in real life.

I'm focusing on modesty for my 8-year-old girl before she hits her teens and thinks she can dress like a street walker or pop singer does these days.

I saw an old pirate movie the other day.

The heroine was a beautiful, fragile-looking young woman who was going to the 'mission islands' to become a missionary.

She wore a huge white dress & carried a white parasol on the ship;
when the ship arrived, she climbed into a boat & was rowed to the beach, where she alit & walked up the beach to the rain forest &, I don't know, ate barbecue or something.

Her hair was perfect, no sweat beaded her upper lip, & the dress was as fresh as a daisy.

Later, when she was wearing a different pristine white dress, complete with petticoats & bloomers, some bad guys kidnapped her & sold her to a local tribe to be sacrificed to the volcano.

The bad guys tied her to a weird apparatus & slowly lowered it over the fiery mouth of the volcano.

She was writhing in agony & reciting the 23rd psalm.

Dress was still white.

The hero rescued her & they ran through the sand & the billowing, blowing dust, eventually running through the shallow water at the edge of the beach.

The dress was pure white until it hit the ocean.

Female 'news readers' (not real reporters) evidently are told to wear 'sexy' clothes. It's probably required by a station's marketing director.

This is a little newer than the 'weather bunnies' who have *always* been dressed like tarts. One of the weather forecasters we see is obviously intelligent, and she has an advanced degree. She has a good voice and delivery too, but we know why she got the job on a major network. She's beautiful in face and form, and they present her in dresses so tight they 'cup' under her bottom.

I would like to see fewer adult women with long, flowing tresses like the swooning girls on the covers of bodice-ripper novels. They look ridiculous -- on TV and in real life. But *I* am not selling advertising time to companies that want to sell products to men.
