JoAnn update! 8/22

I talked with JoAnn this morning. She came home from the hospital yesterday but ended up going right back in because she was running a fever by the time she got home.

She asked me to post this update.

Her husband isn't doing much better. He now has hospic care at home. They are pretty much just trying to make him as comfortable as they can. He's in so much pain.

Please continue your prayers for them both.

I am really sorry to hear she had to go back to the hospital and also so sorry to hear her husband is on Hospice! Keeping them in my prayers.

Aloha folks, I did it!! :) I was able to package up 1 or 2 seed packets for every participant. :) Amazing! Also wishing you a Happy Holiday! well I finished up packing at 5:34am this morning..lol I pulled an all-nighter but I managed to get it done. so Sue you're not the only one! Oh my. You really stuck to it! I quit at 1 AM because I didn't want to be tired today and maybe even tomorrow and maybe be grumpy around a lot of folks. I had 'thought' I would do more this AM, but my AADD got in the way. I may send a few extra things out Fri, and if they throw a kink into the sorting they can just be kept to be passed on as bonuses sometime later. Whew...glad to be over the seeds for a day or so. Sue

Replacing outside R22 condenser with new R22 condensor

Those indoor coils are too small to work efficiently or effectively with 13 SEER outdoor units. You can have problems with the compressor (liquid returning) and overall a lack of comfort. Once you go through the trouble with replacing the outdoor units, you could have the indoor coils leak at any point. I don't think you'll be saving much if any money by doing this, so there's really no payback to be considered. Plus you are limited to R-22 systems rather than R-410A systems. I'm not a pro with an agenda to sell--just one homeowner to another here. I think you'd b making a poor decision though I know it may sound cheaper upfront. 13 SEER coils require more surface area than the old 8 or so SEER systems you have now. The systems you have now lasted as long as they did because they were matched. 13 SEER systems hold more refrigerant and just aren't made to work with the smaller coils. Also, warranty would be void in most cases. That's about all the convincing I can do. Carrier released an article on the matter with some technical details. Can't seem to locate it now.

Took DH to the Dr today for needed blood work but since he is not having a transplant, by choice, it wasn't necessary after all. The Dr doesn't have good news.Its all the Our Lords hands now, Keep praying. This is a very hard time for all of us.

I hope JoAnn doesn't have an infection. That happened to me after my hysterectomy, but I don't like to post it and scare the daylights out of women who are getting ready to go through it. I was home overnight before I had to go back in. The surgeon told me I was an hour away from dying. He sure did ruin my bikini line--not that I had a great one to begin with or ever worn a bikini for that matter.

I didn't realize Ken was bad. I hope they can get him some meds for the pain. They sure have had more than their share of heartbreak.

They were at our house in February when Nita and Carol came. I just hate hearing what she's going through. She's a lot of fun and such a sweet person. At that time, Ken was having problems eating and could only eat turkey--which by coincidence I happened to be serving for lunch. So much to have happen in just a few months.

Oh gosh, I didn't know Joann's dh was in such a bad way; I too hope they give him whatever he needs to be most comfortable. I wish they wouldn't boot people out of the hospital so fast! I'm so sorry for Joann and will keep them both in my prayers.

When it was posted that Ken refused a liver transplant I knew that he wouldn't have long without one. It is so sad since he is young and had his whole life ahead of him.

I hope that JoAnn recovery goes smoothly once she gets back home. She has had so much to go through in such a short period of time.

They both look so healthy when we were at Patti's you would never guess things could change so quickly.

My prayers are going out to both of them. I pray that they keep Ken comfortable and that he has an easy passing. I pray that JoAnn has the strength deal with all that is ahead of her.
