Bra on TV -Genie

I'm not on here every day anymore so I'm not sure if you covered this subject before, so I plow right into it...Does anyone know anything about the Genie Bra 'as advertised on TV?'

I know it has no hooks. But do you PULL it up? That's the way it looked in the ad..Gee, my bottoms a tad bigger than my top, don't know how THAT would work...

and if you tried one -- did you like it?

Yes, we did have a discussion about the bra but I cannot find it. I think the general opinion was a "thumbs down," but someone who tried it did post a very funny comment about what it took to get the thing on over her head!

I have one, it does let you forget you have a bra on, that is very true.Don't like the step in and pull up exercise one must do to get it on however. I was thinking it would not be a good bra to wear for any Dr.s appts.either. But it is comfortable as can be.
Wouldn't say it does wonders for your bustline either. It is like an athletic sports bra plain and simple.

I was so sick of my bra straps sliding off my shoulders & not finding a bra that didn't. I finally decided how I was going to fix it. I bought elastic (I think it was 5/16"). I used about a 10 1/2" piece (it will depend on the width of your back from strap to strap) make it slightly shorter so that it lays smooth across your back.. Slip one end of the elastic through the O ring where the upper part of the strap attaches to the adjustable part of your strap, sew in place. Then attach the other end to the other O ring on the opposite strap. Presto! You will no longer have sliding straps. I am in the process of doing this to all my bras, and have not had a slipping strap since. It is easy to put on as you slip the bra over your head first & then put your arms in the straps. I wish I had thought of this years ago. Cost, about 25 cents!

It would be a cool device. You've had me thinking on it since I read your post. It's actually quite doable if the broadcaster would feel building the query database would be profitable. That's the kind of forward thinking that makes people rich!!!The possibilities are endless if it were implemented. One of my digital to analog converters has a pause on it when even on a live broadcast, you could pause the picture. If the tv is connected to the internet then you could use your pointer, type in "persons name" or "mountain name" or point to a food dish and query "recipe". I know a lot of folks have the newer tv's that wirelessly log onto the internet. Mine has a small keyboard that slides out from under the remote. It comes in handy when doing searches on netflix or, looking at ebay, facebook, etc. real quick right from the tv. It could surely work off that same principle and evolve over time into something even more powerful....good thinking on your part!!!

I have heavy breasts and have struggled with bra shopping for years (anywhere from 34-36 DD-E). My issues were always neck and shoulder discomfort. I was introduced to the Fit Fully Yours line after a custom fitting at a specialty lingerie boutique that I had to drive 2 hours to get to (I live in the boonies). I was a bit skeptical because I'd never even heard tell of Fit Fully Yours before, and they're not cheap, but I bought one that day. Then I went back a few months later and bought another. Turned out to be the best thing I've ever done. I haven't worn another brand since, but I have no personal experience with their sports bra. (I wear the Maxine Moulded which says it is 'engineered for women with heavy breasts'... maybe that's mainly just marketing hoopla... but it's worked for me!)

I dislike commercials in general as a nuisance. But a few stand out. Recently, the ones from big companies such as Amazon and Frito Lay who buy ad space just to tell everyone about the great things they are doing and how much money they have invested in feel good projects annoy me the most. The insurance one with the homeowners association busybody grated my nerves, only because i know people like that, and dislike them intensely. I hate the very idea of homeowners associations. I know its meant to be funny, but its not to me. The abused animal ones make me want to physically hurt people, so i don't like those either. Not good for my overall well being to want to hurt people. Any ad for things like the Mirror or the other one, i cant remember the name. Oh, Tonal. Only because i feel like the products themselves are so dumb. Just stream a workout to your TV! And why is it after every workout some kid comes running up and jumping into their arms?

Here's a tip for those of you considering ordering these bras: They are sold in two-packs at Bed, Bath, & Beyond. Grab you 20% off coupon and purchase. Try one on at home and see for yourself if they might be for you. Cost for me was $16 for the two bras! If not for you, simply return with your receipt. The only downside is that they are only available in packs of nude and black. Also, the size Small is not available. Only size Medium and larger are available in the stores, so if you want a white bra, you'll likely have to order from the web-site, although this way, you can clearly determine your size. I am small-busted (34 B) and purchased a size Medium because the smaller size wasn't available. Loved it and it seemed to fit just fine. Went back the next day and purchased another two-pack with another coupon from the Sunday paper. Can't be beat! So comfortable. They come with removable pads for better coverage, but is up to you and your preference whether or not to remove the pads. Remove the pads before laundering, however!

There are several reviews on this bra at this website - well worth a look.

From reading review sites, I found most women did not think they
were a quality product, plus they got burned on the shipping
/handling, etc.
If you can buy one that's returnable from a store that would be a no risk way to try it...

It seems to me that even the TV models look sort of saggy in those bras, and almost like they have a 'uni-boobage' going on under their tops.

I saw those at Bed Bath & Beyond the other day and was really tempted. I don't need a lot of support and they look so comfy, but I couldn't figure out what size I would be. From the review Kay posted it sounds like a medium would fit.

I'd much rather buy it there, as Kay suggested. Those TV mail-order deals can kill you with the shipping.

Mad About Mickey - I'm pretty sure we can pull it on over our heads, then slip our hands through the arm holes.

The Genie bra is very comfortable, I first bought the medium size at Bed Bath & Beyond (I usually take a 34 B)but the medium was way too tight. I felt like I couldn't breath. So I returned it for a large, and it fits fine. I put it on over my head - it's a tight squeeze, but it works. I heard that if you order it from the web, they send you the ones without the pads, so if you want the pads, make sure you specify that, and order them over the phone, or buy them from B,B&B. It's a little warmer than a regular bra, so I may save mine for the winter time. Recently I saw an ad for the 'Yes' bra in the coupon part of the Sunday paper. It looks just like the Genie bra and sells for $7.97 ($5.00 off their Dream Products catalog price). If you buy two or more you get free shipping. In the ad it is only sold in white, which I like much better than the nude and black. It didn't say anything about the pads, so I would have to check on that; their number is 1-800-530-2689. I heard that the Ahh bra is also just like the Genie bra.

It is easy to get on by pulling up, but the "uni-boob" and no support mentioned here are true, if you are bigger breasted. It is comfortable though and also to sleep in.

I love them. I bought 4 and also have 2 ahhh bras which seems to be a bit thinner. They are great to sleep in. I prefer the genie bra's but you may want to get a size larger. Here is the other thread link below

I started a thread about the Genie Bra when Mom was looking for new bras about a month ago. I ended up buying her a pack and other than the fact that she would have preferred white, she loves them. Then I purchased a pack for myself. I'm wearing one now and they are the most comfortable bras I own. I'm a 38C and until the Genie Bra I only felt supported while wearing an underwire bra. They do get a bit moist as they are completely devoid of natural fibers. I have pulled the bra up to put it on, but usually prefer to don it overhead. It's not a big deal to get it in place. I don't think I would ever wear the bra without the pad, since I don't want others to notice when I am cold. And of course, I don't remove the pads before washing. If the bra needs washing, so do the pads. I don't put the bra or pads in the dryer, though.

They certainly don't give me the definition that I get while wearing an underwire, but you can defintely tell that I have TWO breasts, LOL.

With all that I've read about ordering them, I will stick to only purchasing at a store.
