Bra Fitting - Excellent internet site

Found this site and have been reading page after page - learned something I did not know - about going up or down in bra sizes and that the cup size CHANGES. Did not know that:

38C = 36D

All about finding the perfect fit. You have to read the information to fully grasp this.

mcpeg, this is a wonderful site. It gives a lot of the information I learned as a certified bra fitter in my last job that ended more than 10 years ago. Bras have come a long way since then. So many more options for the hard to fit woman. Being a petite, somewhat fluffy, well endowed woman, I have always found it difficult to find a good comfortable supportive bra. I am again on the hunt as the one that worked when I was younger is no longer suitable for my maturing figure. This site should help. Thanks a bunch!

I have a really hard time finding a comfortable bra that fits.They ride up in the back,cups smash boobs,straps cut into my underarm,all kinds of stuff.Within a month's time I bought at least 10 bras,none of which fit.DD and I were discussing it one day and my son-in-law proceeds to tell me how to measure for the correct fit,like on the bra fitting site!LOL He had seen it on TV.Anyway,I had been buying a 48-C.The last 2 I bought were 46-D and they fit perfectly!
Anyone remember those bras that they use to give home parties for? Can't remember the brand name now,it was back in the 70's I think.They had a plastic "uplift" thingie in them and when the "fitter" measured and fitted you for one it was like putting on a harness getting it on! Actually kind of reminds me of getting a mamogram!LOL And I use to actually wear one of those things!

I checked Ebay for beeches. Couldn't find anything locally for under $100, and they were nice trees, just out of my price range. Found one seller of beeches, 2 for $17.98, free shipping on 3-4ft sprouts. I am taking the chance, ordered from him this week. I also just wanted one or two, for trying to add variety to my tree collection. Always have heard good things about beeches, how they are useful in the woods for wildlife. Price was good for experimenting. You might try collecting some local Oak acorns, grow your own. I have a couple I just planted in pots in the garden dirt, that grew well. I am planting them around, giving some away. Trees from a local area, usually are suited to the climate well, show that by being successful trees.

Not to quibble, but I don't think that 95% of the world figure is accurate. In China(20% of the world's population) most everyone uses Chinese measurements like lÇ, chÇ, mÇ, jÄ«n, etc. as do many SE Asian countries(especially ones with significant historical interaction with the Chinese). I'd bet that probably 1/2 of English literate people on the internet(ie. potential posters on gardenweb) use Imperial measurements still. I try to post both measurements to save people from having to convert them themselves, but I also like number crunching so it is also for a bit of personal want as well. I do forget to do this from time to time though. Anyway, back to the original posting, I too enjoyed the new website and thought it was very convenient to have all of the information brought together in one website. I think the general public(non-plant people) will find it easy to navigate and perhaps start a passion for plants within them(hopefully).

I understand what those of you who are endowed with extra large breasts are saying but I still think it's simply a matter of poor design. If the problem is the breasts being pushed together and creating the "shelf" appearance then the problem is not wire or no wire but how the area is designed between the cups. I have notice that bra manufacturers do tend to skimp on that area often just putting the cups right together having an extremely small space between them. I could see how that would be a problem. So I still believe a good bra could be made to address the problem without wires if more women demanded it. A nice reinforced center that would do it. Fit is important. I see many women buy bras for fashion and price instead of fit. I have a good friend who is very endowed. I was buying bras recently and she bought one too, I was buying the style I always wear I wear a full figured style in a 34 c and she bought one too. WITHOUT even trying it on! Now this lady is obviously in the triple EEE range or larger but she buys a bras off the rack in a double D and just buys a huge band size. I have tried to talk to her but you know what they say about leading a horse to water ....... Yes she does have back problem and grooves in her shoulders but you can't change a person who doesn't want to change.

desertsteph other than a few coffees like Yuban you are unlikely to find any that are in one pound cans. Most store brands have gone to bags. thx! never thought of that. I buy Maxwell and the last time I bought it (6 yrs ago) I bought it at W. I remember deciding I wanted to drink coffee again (after many yrs of not drinking it). I'd been sick and a friend took me to W and I even had to buy a new coffee pot. I still have that same coffee! and thought it might not taste good after so many yrs in the cabinet. I have more recently seen small sizes in the local Walgreens ad but haven't bought it there because they're more expensive and I'm more often (at least once a week) in W for something anyway. If they don't have a small can at W (or bag ) next trip there (tomorrow) I'll make a stop at Walgreens and see what they have. The less stops (and in/out of the car), the better for me. I'm still having some problems with my left leg. I try to only go out about twice a week. but W's shelves were really bare the day I was recently in there. there were large areas of shelves in the Maxwell area that were very, very empty.

Fantastic site, McPeg! Not only did I print out all the relevant info for myself...I passed it on to a couple of my neighbors who continually moan and groan that the bra industry is trying to sabotage feminine comfort with their recent styles and designs. So...not only am I thanking you...but so are a few of my neighbors.
