Just to make it a little more clear, since Photobucket has recently added a fourth line and changed the names slightly... After you upload your photo, you will see 4 lines of code underneath it: Email & IM Direct Link HTML Tag IMG code The one you want is the HTML Tag line. Right click on it to copy it, then paste it directly in the Message box. If you want to add a caption or comments, put them on a separate line so they won't run together. When you click "Preview Message" you should see your picture. If it's not there, or if the spacing is not right, don't submit the message. You can use the corrections box as many times as you need to to get it right. Once it's posted you can't edit. If you don't want the picture to be seen as part of the message, then you can use it as a link. In that case you have to use the Direct Link line, copy and paste it into the space just below the message box that says "Optional Link URL", and then enter the name of the plant or whatever title you want in the box below that, where it says "Name of the Link". That way the reader has to click on the link to see the picture. This can also be used to add a link to a web page, such as photos on FCBS, or if you have a whole album of pictures you want to show. When you're doing a new posting the link box won't appear at first, but as soon as you preview the message it will be there, so just wait and add your link then, then preview it again and test the link to make sure it works, then submit your message. This makes it much easier for everyone to use than if you just print the URL as part of the message. Hope this helps. It took me a long time to figure it out at first too. As a cyber-newbie I didn't know how to right-click the mouse to copy and paste, so I was trying to copy it all down by hand, LOL. I only recently figured out how much easier it is if you open two windows, D'OH!!! ;-)

Hi Dea.. You will need to upload them to a free photo hosting site from your computer. Many of us use photobucket. After you have them in photobucket, you will want to copy and paste the html code right here into the text box. It will look like a ton of jibberish, so don't panic. :-) When you click on preview, it should show your photo, if not something went wrong. Hope this helps. JoJo

well darn I posted a reply but it apparently disappeared into the nether land. I did go to the site and read all the info I could find, I like that it does sound like it is private and only those you share a direct link with can view it. The things that caused me a little concern was the very sparse and strangely worded terms of service. Also they say they DO allow adult content which is very strange all other hosting sites prohibit it strongly. Also some of the grammar and spelling is very poor which suggest a site outside of the US which can be ok but normally on this type of site you would at least want a polished appearance. I am willing to try it out though. I still prefer imageshack over all but I don't upload a lot of pics.

They changed their policies two years ago in June, 2017. nicole, that's what I did to get my photos back. It was time consuming but it worked. Photobucket really did not handle that change well. They gave their customers very short notice, held their photos hostage and initially were going to charge $60 - $400 per year (depending on how much space each user was using). In response to the uproar...*ahem*, I mean, all of the negative feedback from their customers, a year ago they reduced their pricing to $53.90 to $129 per year depending on the size of account one wants. They also offer a free account with a storage limit of 250 photos/2.5GB I get that they are a business and they want to make money, but that was not the way to spring it on people. I no longer trust other hosting sites not to turn around and do the same thing, so I just keep my photos on a flash drive which has been backed up as well. If I want to share with family/friends I post to Instagram.
