I've heard of it, but was really surprised that some of the cancer center workers in the video didn't know what it was!

I don't think they mentioned the "orange peel texture" of the skin that some women describe.

I have a friend who found out she had IBC while pregnant with her third child. It's now spread to her spine and bones. Such a sad case!

PLEASE everyone.....let your loved ones know about IBC. My girlfriend's 39 year old daughter just died after fighting this cancer for 3 years. Not one month after she died, another friend of mine was diagnosed with the same thing.
We have to protect ourselves and our loved ones with this information.

OMG...I had no idea. I am going to give this information to my daughter and all my women friends. I will ask my doctor (next Tuesday) about it too. She is a top intern at UCLA and I want to see what she says. My sincere thanks okwriter for passing this on to all of us.

My neighbor died of inflammatory breast cancer at 47 years old. I had never heard of it before her illness.

I've heard about it before, only because one of our Kter's is an IBC survivor and sent me a cd with information on it a few years ago when I was in nursing school.

That was me Kathleen. I am an 8 year Inflammatory Breast Cancer Survivor. It is a very aggressive cancer. I'm not out of the woods yet, still being treated but so far it is very well controlled. I show no evidence of disease. I was never promised a cure but they said they hoped to control it. Control is good! Cherryfizz has a sister who has survived it about twice as long as I have. Anne gave me so much hope when she told me about her sister, it meant the world to me. I thank you everyday Anne for giving me the hope I needed.

Fortunately I knew about IBC before I was diagnosed. My doctor was very surprised that I diagnosed it and he was sure it was mastitis. Knowing helped saved my life. If you haven't watched the video, I urge you to see it. It is a rare cancer, but it happens. The youngest gal I know to get it was 13 years old. BTW Men get it too.

Thanks for the link. I heard about it about 18 years ago when I had to have the ducts removed from my breast. They were thinking it might have been IBC, but in my case, all turned out okay with only the duct removal.
