I agree with Jen. If she doesn't want to wear make up and doesn't want to get dressed up, that's her choice. It might actually end up being even more uncomfortable for her to wear make up and dress in clothes she doesn't feel good in. I was going to ask if she regretted not attending previous reunions but you said she went to her 20th. So that makes me think she really DOES know the score. She knows what people wore, how she got along, if she was able to connect with people, etc. The fact that it didn't turn out that great for her is really all the evidence she needs to make an intelligent decision about this event. If she chooses to ignore that experience, I'm not sure what you can do about that. I went to my five year (too soon!!) and ten year reunions. Five year, we were mostly still in college or just barely out. Not enough time had passed. So I gave it a second chance with the ten year. That told me everything I needed to know about HS reunions. It was a relive-your-glory-days, who's-the-cutest, who's-the-most-popular redux. Ugh. I am actually still friends with a few of my HS gang, 30+ years later. I care about them, we see each other regularly and I don't need to spend $$$ for a formal event at a hotel to "catch up". The rest of the people, I could pretty much go the rest of my life without giving them another thought. The point is, I think, that the people who are currently IN our lives are the ones who really make a difference in our lives. All those people I knew 30 years ago have absolutely no bearing on my present reality. Maybe that's something your friend has to realize on her own.

I wonder if we could arrange to have it in writing, who the property goes to if someone gets hit by a truck. Because he is a landlord, can he change the lease agreement once the prior lease expires? Is is a yearly lease agreement that is able to be altered each year? I think we would probably look at a single long lease, at least 2 years, with our option to buy at the end of the lease protected. it appears that you made up your mind and you won't listen to what anyone else says no matter what No, that isn't true. Just because I don't agree with other people's conclusions doesn't mean I'm not thinking about the points they bring up. I don't understand why you're so certain that you would be unable to get a rental that you like better than your current one. Three months of research. Main thing is relationship between employer & employee. I my own self would not like to have a business contract interfere with that. Unless there's a friendship outside of work hours, isn't the relationship between employer & employee exactly a business contract? In the event of a disagreement, the boss almost always wins, & you could find yourselves with no home & no job either. People have said this several times but no one has offered a plausible scenario to *how* it would happen that couldn't happen now or in another rental. I mean, if you have one, I'm all ears, I just haven't seen one. I'm going to call several lenders Monday and see what they accept as a down payment from a rent-to-own situation, because I agree having a third-party lender would be a way safer option. Usafamomsq8, I am really pissed too - this being the nicest word I can print. I have saved a number of pages of gorgeous ikea hacked kitchens. It had been my plan to spend time at the ikeafans site to see what other ideas I might be able to incorporate that I hadn't already considered. We are two months away from the remodel and I am finalizing my layout. Obviously there was a financial reason they did this. I suspect that because people were buying cabinet fronts elsewhere they felt it was costing them too much money in lost revenue. I am sure they weighed the cost of litigation to lost dollars in sales and it made sense for them to close it down. I feel sorry for the couple losing the site they must have worked very hard to put together. Sadly, they are a multinational corporation and we are but ants at their picnic, so unless someone comes up with another idea, we have just been stomped on.
