My poor DD#3 has been having so much ear infection trouble. She's 24 now, a couple thousand miles away, and has had ongoing ear infection since she was thirteen. A couple of years ago she had uterine dysplasia followed by chemo. The chemo knocked out her immune system and she was nearly taken by drug-resistant sepsis, spent a few months in the hospital and care center. The last 8 weeks she has spent on various antibiotics with no relief. She had to go back to the emergency room a night or two ago. As soon as she gets approval from her insurance company, her specialist is setting up ear surgery. They'll re-build her tubes (birth defect) and insert tubes, rebuild her ear drum, and scrape infection off her skull bones. Hopefully, it will be a cure. She is losing the hearing in one ear and risks losing it in the other. Her blood and some bones are infected, she said. Please offer healing thoughts and prayers.

Wow, sounds like she is having a rough time. Hope the surgery works and that she can keep her hearing. Sending lots of good thoughts her way!!

Let me slip in here to give you all a big hug and lots of thanks! You have no idea how wonderful and warm inside this post has made me! I read this thread last night, but didn't tell Jammer about it. This morning as he was leaving he told me that he would be there with me today - not physically, but mentally and emotionally. So as I was at the hospital today, waiting to have my Medi-port put in, I pictured Jammer and all of you KTers there in the room with me. Sure put a big smile on my face!!! Everything went well today. I am a little sore, but have no pain and I'm feeling fine. Thanks again!!

I know what a worry it is with her so far away! I'll keep her in my thoughts. I hope her surgery is very successful and she will not have to suffer anymore. What's your DD's name?

Thanks everyone. Eva, her name is Katie Leigh. She's putting herself through mortuary college. After she gets her funeral director's license, she wants to go into forensic investigations.

Oh my, that's a lot for Katie to have to go through, and it has to be hard on 'mom' being so far away. Does she have anyone there to help her? She has my prayers for a complete and total healing.

Katie Leigh (what a lovely name!) has been added to my prayer list. Sure hope they get to the real root of this infection and conquer once & for all.

It's sooo hard having to sit home worrying 'bout your "baby."

Again, thank you so much, everyone. Yes, it is very hard having her so far away. She does have her sister and family near her. She'll be having the surgery in Las Vegas.

I'm so sorry that our Katie is having so much trouble. Her grandma will be sending some prayers and good thoughts her way. Its hard when your child (no matter what their age) is living and having a hard time, so far away. Huggs to Katies terrific Mom too. Dottie

Thanks, everyone. I have forwarded your messages to Katie to help her feel better. And I was a bad mommy, she's 23 not 24. She lives with her, as she calls it, friend Stephen, also. When she came down with the sepsis, the spot on her leg turned black and the emergency doctor said Stephen had to lance it immediately or she wouldn't make it to the ER, so he did and carried her into the ER. I think she is in good hands between Stephen and her sister Julie and her DH Scott. But I still worry. She is buying plane tickets to have her brother come out over Xmas break from college. They are only a year apart and did everything together, so they miss each other a lot. It's been 5 years since we've seen each other.
