How lovely--a little bit of heaven there, for sure! Thank you. I'd love to join you on the patio!

I'll hoist my cup to you, Socks! Hope you have a lovely day!!

Looks very comfy and homey....I wish we had a barn! Don't cha just love this time of year?? :)

Love your pictures!

Very pretty indeed....would have loved a coffee on that patio.

Oh just wonderful. Wish we sat on a property that was bigger than a postage stamp. Our backyard could fit in your hammock. :-)

Great pictures! Thanks for the tour! Is that a begonia on the patio?

I'd love to have that studio... probably wouldn't have a problem taking over the Lathe house too. lol Nice place you and Ron have!

lovely, and green! So unlike what we are seeing here in Houston these days. Brown is the color we see a lot of. Driving down one of the beautiful tree shaded streets last weekend we were so sad to see huge trees all brown and dead everywhere. What a loss. The forest behind us is thinning out so much with more dead trees than live ones.

Lovely and quiet-looking. Thanks for sharing.

We've had so much rain that our Japanese maple's leaves are reverting to green. There's moss growing under the cotoneaster. Our temps are nice now, but humidity is still high.

Our street lost many big old trees in storms last month and earlier in August. Tired of hearing the wood chipper at work. (100-year Elms also dying and damaged, but ours is still OK.) Saw my first ash banded for removal due to emerald ash borer. Sigh.

I enjoyed the tour! Everything looks so lush and green! I especially enjoyed seeing Lucy again. Thanks for posting!

BUT... it is darn cold there in the winter....

However, it does look GREAT. My potted plants, even though on the north side balcony died in our heat.

Tough decision to make... stay here where it is HOT, or go someplace where it might be very cold, or very wet...

Moni

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Lynn, we do have a couple of begonias but you are probably looking at the petunias, colias and the geranium in the closer shots.

Lydia, the lathe house and studio are nice, but we hardly ever get to spend time there--it's either too hot, too cold, too many mosquitos or not enough time! So sad!!!

Raven, I was born and raised in Galveston and lived in Houston for 11 years. I went back a few years ago and was just so shocked, even then, to see how brown it was in the hill country! That killed me! My friends in Houston are telling me it's just relentless. I'm so sorry for you all down there. I hope next year it all turns around.

Chisue, I forget where you live. Our ash is okay for now but Ron thinks it'll probably get nailed eventually.

Moni, it IS cold here, dammit! Grrrrrrr. I try to act like it's not gonna happen this year otherwise I'll go crazy! That is really the downside of living here, but lately it is absolutley paradise!

Your yard and porch are lovely,i'd love to come and sit with you on that porch and sip iced tea(not a coffee drinker)Love all your plants and the brick on the floor.TFS

Your indeed - your farm is lovely! You just need to keep those photos handy when Jan and Feb freeze your little buns!

Beautiful! And it's great that you appreciate all of it and don't take it for granted just because you live there. I have a bean arch, too, and mine looked a lot like yours last year. But this year the deer discovered it early on, and then again later. Rain keeps washing off my Liquid Fence applications. Anyway, yours looks terrific!

Your property is beautiful and looks like such a relaxing place!

What a lovely homestead. Enjoy and thanks for sharing.

It looks so peaceful. I love it!

I've been off to work all day and had no idea Bigbaby posted these.
Thanks for all the compliments. I have a greater tolerance for the cold since I grew up here. Bigbaby is from Galveston so that's a diffeent story. When I'm out clearing the driveway in below zero weather I remind myself that at least I'm not swatting at mosquitoes. It helps.....a little.

Ron

I really enjoyed your pictures & see why you enjoy it so much. However, the real draw is Lucy, your shadow. It looks as though she doesn't have a tail - is she part Australian shepherd?

Thank you for posting the pictures. I really like the green bean arch! Sure looks good.

Sue

I also enjoyed seeing your green bean arch! :0) Made me smile....it's sooooooooooooo lush!

How lucky you are to live in such a lush green paradise.

I wish I could experience it in person with a cup of tea or even a coke.

A town near here Tyler Tx has set a new rcord with over 60 days of temps above 100 since June 1st. Our town is not far behind.

The drouth is bringing lots of wildlife out of their usual habitats in search of water and food. I have damage from racoons, armadillos, deer, o'possums and grasshoppers.

I feed nine crows daily as well as smaller birds.

Brown trees are standing out among the still green ones.

Just beautiful! I love summer!

kathleenca, We're not sure about Lucys parentage. She is a rescue from the pound. She has a stub of a tail, about 3 inches long. She's part collie, the rest is open for debate. Lucy is also very intelligent, but, our last dog was a Bassett Hound and next to her a box of rocks would look smart.

Ron

It looks wonderful and so inviting! Thanks for sharing your little bit of heaven with us.
