Diane - Too funny. Yeh, me too! Dawn - You are not alone with your selection since they had almost nothing left in my size when I ordered. I also got the camo with orange strap, plus one more that isn't any better. I had looked almost as soon as Diane posted the link, but didn't see the promotion. By the time I got there they were just about sold out in my size. I have a couple of el-cheapo brand that I wear in the garden all of the time. I said that I would NEVER wear those ugly shoes, but after I had a broken foot and no longer needed the boot, I still had to wear a lace up brace. I could wear two pairs of shoes. My athletic shoe would go on but just barely, and wasn't terribly comfy over that brace. The old fake crocs were so wide that I could slide them right on. LOL I have a narrow foot so they hardly touch my feet anywhere but on bottom anyway. I have a pair of Speedo slip-on sandals that I wear constantly at home. They are about 4 years old and I have bought two pair since then trying to get one as comfortable as this pair, but none of them are. When I put on this kind of shoe, I always think of my youngest daughter. When she was a teen-ager, she looked at my feet one day and said, "Mom, those shoes must be really comfortable." I said, "They really are. Why?" She answered, "Well otherwise you wouldn't wear them because they are sure ugly." She was right. Jay - You will have to look beyond the shoes at the Spring Fling because our feet may all look alike. LOL By the way, I have adopted the name you gave it. "Spring Fling" has a nice ring. LOL

I swore up and down that I would never have a pair, they were the ugliest shoes I had ever seen and I don't allow ugly shoes in my closet. Then one day I had to take my husband to a special shoe store for diabetic shoes. While I was walking around I saw a display of what looked like pins. They had a little chihuahua there and since I have three real chihuahuas, I bought one. After I got home, I was wondering how I was going to wear this pin since the back wasn't like any pin I had ever seen before. Apparently, I am a little slow and it finally dawned on me that you were suppose to wear them on Crocks. So, off I went to Target ( it was closer than the shoe store I took hubby too which is way across town) to get a pair of $30.00 Crocks to put my $2.99 pin on. They didn't have any Crocks but did have some knock offs. I found a pair of pink swirly ones in my size and got them. Went home and put my little pin on the right one, that made the left one look naked. Went back across town to the shoe store and bought another chihuahua pin plus a turtle, parrot, sun and dolphin. I'm good to go Crock wise if not mentally. Vique.

Thanks for your concern and suggestions, maifleur. The pebbles in question that cause substantial, even though infrequent, complaints from the bottom of my foot are the ones that get into the croc and sit between the inside sole of the shoe and the sole of my foot, that they claim to be very troublesome. That said, the ribs are getting substantially worn down, so I think it wise to follow your suggestion of treading carefully on concrete: there isn't much around here except in the barn, that seldom gets wet. But there is grass, and a couple of minor slips have taught me to travel there with care. Usually wear rubber boots, reasonably good tread, when grass wet. Freezing rain, then snow caused me a major, unannounced kerplunk last winter, resulting in some discomfort to the left hip bone, apparent only when I rubbed it, for a few days. Another lesson in the ongoing education of the need to be careful. And, I'm pretty sure that my phone wasn't within reach at the time. ole joyfuelled

So you probably have more options than I do in Calgary. ;) Being cheeky here.... Money is a problem: I work retail, I'm not making much $$ but I do believe in "you get what you pay for" when it comes to clothing. My feet are very wide and short for my height. So I wear men's running shoes. Don't even get me started on women's dress shoes. They just don't make them for my feet, I literally have to squish my feet in them when I wear a dress and when we go to a wedding, I'll kick them off under the table and only put them back on to walk to a washroom, or whatever. I seriously have hunted for MONTHS to find the right running shoes for my feet. MONTHS and I have planters fasciitis and having been off work for 4 1/2 months, I was hoping my feet would be a lot better, but OMG, I almost fell flat on my face last night when I stood up after sitting for an hour when I got home from work, having worked 8 hours on my feet. I drenched my feet in a rx strength muscle relaxer cream and it helped "some". And I am only speaking for myself so I am not invalidating anyones experience or choices, just as those who want to wear ugly crocks don't invalidate my experience or choices. Have a good day.
