They have lost their shine, no big deal. Don't bother with polishes, they won't help it and they may not be food safe. That is just the way the new beaters are. You aren't suppose to dishwash them. It doesn't hurt them, just removes their shine. I always dishwash mine. Could care less if the beater shines.

Hmmm... do you really want to know? What gets me is not what I find but what I lost. I wanted to make soup and thought I had a chunk of ham. No ham to be found so I bought some... the next time I looked in the freezer there was that ham sitting there right under the ice cube bin. The bottle of peppermint schnapps is about 5 years old... still in excellent shape if about gone. Dolly is down to the last couple packages of road kill venison... she loves a frozen block of meat to lick on a hot day. I have three hearts and two tounges that are coming out. Bag of pickle spice on the way from Penzey's and they will be pickled soon. I'm back on 7 day work weeks so what soon is I don't really know. Promised myself some steaks when I get the freezer cleaned good. Somehow I lost a quart bag of jalapeno peppers. They were in there and then they were gone... perhaps behind the ham? : ) lyra

newbuyer2007, you're correct. Homebuyers often look at the tax assessment when deciding what to offer on a home. They erroneously believe that is what the property is worth. If they work with a Realtor, hopefully the Realtor has disabused them of that notion. There may be some states that are close in their tax assessment to the value of the property, but markets fluctuate and like everyone else has said, Market Value has nothing to do with the Tax Assessment. Home buyers and sellers should know that the fair market value of how much your home may sell for is generally based on comps of properties sold in the area, usually within the past 3 months or so. That also doesn't mean anything either. Buyers and agents often look at the price per sq foot of comps sold in area. I sold a house last year that I totally updated - new roof, a/c, bathrooms down to studs, new appliances, carpet. Home was practically a rebuild. My price for my home was in keeping with prices of homes for sale in the neighborhood, but my price per sq foot was higher than all the comps by $10-12 per sq foot. The other homes on the market helped sell my house. The other homes on the market were in bad shape, outdated, some filthy, but in a nice neighborhood and a coveted school district. My home with everything practically new sold in 8 days. The value of your property is what a buyer is willing to pay. With the current economy, there may be additional challenges with selling. I would suggest Vetting that you not remodel your home out of neighborhood and check out your competition. Depending on the market in your area, it may be best to wait out the market.

I just ordered the middle one because the local chain Queen City has 8 of them in store and can install this week on Friday. The first one at Lowe's, although it says in stock, it's not really at the store, but in a regional warehouse, so it has to come in and then it gets on the list to be installed. The person at my local Lowe's said the website is not real time on what is available, and calling another store would not make a difference because they all use the same warehouse. Also, for the first one at Queen City, it would be another two weeks because it's not in the store. I know we don't know what day it is, but it is the Memorial Day weekend next weekend and potential for things to get further delayed until early June. So, I'm going with the simplest option here.
