I'm fortunate, in that I've never needed to take prescription medicine except on rare occasions. However, when I got home from the hospital I had pain pills, nausea pills, heartburn pills, anxiety pills and one other type I can't remember now. I got out my colored sharpies and wrote on the label PAIN, NAUSEA, etc. in different colors. That let me easily see which bottle I needed.

I just cannot believe how much information they put on the label in such tiny tiny print. My son tells me the print really isn't any smaller than it used to be when I could read the label, but I don't believe him. LOL.

I have a letra tag label maker, I really like it. I usually just get out the black marker for shampoo/conditioner bottles & make a big S or C on it so I can see it in the shower. Good idea though, I didn't think of it.

I like mine, too. I have a Brother and about 5 different colored tapes or font colors. They're pricey to buy but they've been lasting a long time. I label folders, food containers, containers in general, shelves in the craft room,etc. I even make ID's for the cats' collars just using our phone number and looping the label thru the ring on the collar and sticking it to itself. It lasts several months before it falls off.

I like mine also. I label all kinds of things with it.

I use my labeler for lots of things, but I especially like it for my Sunday School lessons. I put the date and lesson # on each folder. What a wonderful invention!

Are they different from the ones we used to use in the 60's and 70's? That tape was rather thick.

I also print out labels for all those various cords/battery chargers/wires. ie, cell phone, tools, lap tops, camera, roku etc. There are so many cords etc these days. Sheesh.....who can remember which one goes to what? Not me.

sjerin, I remember the label makers from the 60's/ 70's. Those plastic tapes had imprinted letters.

Waaaaay different, sjerin! I remember those, my Dad had one, you dialed up each letter and squeezed the handle to imprint the tape and if you made a mistake, you had to either live with it or start over. The new ones, mine anyway, it's like a little typewriter and you can type in what you want, change, add, delete, backspace, etc and when you're ready, push PRINT and it spits it out on a thin, flexible piece of tape of your color choice. I have yellow, blue and white tapes, some with white letters, some with red or black letters. You can print the same thing multiple times by just not clearing it out, you can print 2 lines over each other, all sorts of options. Mine came in a nifty carrying case, like a small briefcase.

I labeled all the chargers in our drawer, too, MJ! lol If I was really organized I'd label all the wires on the back of the TV, receiver, VCR/DVD player.

I also labelled all the chargers! It's the only way I can keep straight what goes where!

I did the same thing the first day I had mine and put a label on all the chargers!
I also label a lot of the Grandkids stuff, we have 6 and they all have some things alike! It ends a lot of "it's mine" arguements. The little ones can tell their own play wallets for ice cream money and treats. (we keep refilling them)
I found out they all like having their names printed on their special things. Go figure! Kathy

Ohhhhh-- thanks, flamey! Wow, that sounds great. Maybe I'll get one for dh for Christmas, as he is so lazy about organizing and labeling home videos, etc, which drives me nuts. Thanks for the explanation.

One more question: When the tape is removed, does it leave a sticky residue?

I have 2 Brother label makers and I love using them. Just like flamingo, I use them on just about everything. I've even considered labeling DH, but then someone who found him would return him LOL (just kidding).

I labeled my photo albums,so i can see at a glance without pulling them out what's in them,ie kids school years,christmas's etc.Also label the drawers on my plastic cabinets that hold my cross stitch stuff,ie,charts from magazines,kids,xmas etc,etc.

My DIL uses one on everything. She's a school teacher.. My son says if he would stand still long enough she would label him, too.
