Lands End bargain

I thought other KTers with big superior feet might be interested in this bargain I just took advantage of on the Lands End website:

Originally $39.50, they're now $7.99 in larger sizes. I'm keeping a pair in my car for those many nights when I drive home in unexpected rain and then have to walk across wet grass to get to the house.

While I was at it, I ordered a bunch of other stuff from their Overstocks section, too (jeans, sleep pants, fleece pants, and a poncho). Once nice thing about Lands End is you can always return items to Sears.

If you're interested, the Free Shipping Promotion Code is JULY31 and the Pin is 00001056. I think it expires in two days.

Very cool slide show, I've really gotten caught up some of the photos. (Enjoying the music, too, it's soothing on this dreary January morning.) Did you study photography, AJ? There are some very nice shots in there with interesting composition I've gone back to linger over. There's a sense of age old and modern blending together. Like the exterior of Our Lady of Guadalupe, grand old cathedral touching the sky with a modern day telephone pole next to it. Or all the boats in the cove resting still, but no sign of people anywhere. The way the bookstore is framed, it feels like it crops up suddenly on a secluded jungle path. Or the sculptor with his high tech ear buds, intently recreating an ancient king from sand. Can you tell I got caught up in it (and need a vacation badly?! lol) Seriously, really enjoyed looking at those. :) That hover craft ride had to be blast!

I just got my order, which included stretch boot-cut jeans--to the waist. Actually, they call them the "no waist" jean because the waistband is a smooth extension rather than a separate entity. Less bulk. I tried them on and love 'em. Great deal for $14.99 (reg. $39.50).

Alisande: my dh was in a running shoe store. The clerk indicated that peoples' feet change over time. He used to be a 10.5 & now is an 11. So you might want to get your measurements redone. We had no idea that with athletic shoes [you know those extra holes off to the side] can be laced in several ways in order to make the shoe fit your foot/heel much better!

I bought a pair of burgandy comforters for my sons 20 years ago. Some loose threads today, but still in great shape. I bought pink and white bedding for my girls, so charming and sweet. We still have the sleeping bag that matches that set and it is also in excellent condition. These are all under the "Coming Home" brand. This was when you were thrilled to get cotton bedding that was 250 count! Now that Sears is accelerating the closing of their stores, I am hoping that Lands End will be picked up by a better retailer that will promote the legendary quality that Lands End was known for back in the day.

Did you get the flame orange?

I ordered a pair, but in the ivory. Can't beat that deal, and if I don't like them, they can be returned at Sears.

I got two other good deals shopping this week by going to retailmenot.com. Got $15 off shoes at shoebuy.com and also got a discount--think it was 10%--at domestications.com ordering some bedding. It's really worth it to dig around for the discounts.

Thanks for the tip, Susan. There are other bargains there at Lands End too, but I don't have time to shop.

Oh, good! I just got home, and it's nice to see a bunch of you took advantage of the bargain.

Desert_bound, did you figure it out? Somewhere in the ordering process there's a place that asks if you have a coupon, gift card, or promotion code. If you click one of the choices, it'll take you to another screen where you can type in the code and PIN.

Socks mentioned Retailmenot......that's a great coupon site. I ordered two wind chimes from WindChime.com as Christmas gifts this week, and before I placed the order I checked Retailmenot -- and found a $10 off coupon code! The wind chimes were on sale, so all in all it was a very good deal.

As a part time employee of Lands' End for a long time, I need to warn that the Weatherfield shoes run shallow in the instep -- if you have a high arch on the top of your foot, it can be a problem.

I love anything Lands' End, so get these by all means if you can. I really wanted a pair, but can't zip them up on my foot -- darn!

Thanks, Susan! I ordered two pairs, one in a 9 1/2 (the red) and one in a 10 (cream because no red in a 10). Depending on the maker and style I fluctuate between the two sizes. The pair that doesn't fit will go back to Sears. You can't beat the price, and no shipping or tax makes it doubly nice ;^) You're sweet for sharing.

Thanks alisande. I didn't end up ordering those but ordered two different pairs. I've been watching the fleece lined clogs and also the printed trello clogs. With the free shipping code and pin number I saved another $7.95.

I do have a high instep, Litereader, but apparently not too high for these shoes. They zipped up just fine; in fact, there will be room for wool socks in the winter.

I've had instep problems with some Lands End boots and shoes in the past. My favorite shoe fro Lands End is the older design of the All-Weather Mocs. When they changed to the newer design (which I don't like nearly as well), I bought the older ones on eBay for a while.
