I know it probably isn't fair, but the title turns me off. If the subject of the movie has nothing about what the title usually means, people having recreational sex, I think they could have used a different title. If it IS about that, then shame on them....good message for our teens. Not that so many of them need anyone to put the idea in their heads. It just doesn't need to be made to seem acceptable.
That said, sorry if I offended anyone, I hope you and your friend have a terrific movie date, Oklmoni. I wish I had someone to go see The Help with, when it comes out. It has been quite a while since I read the book, so am going to see if I can get it from the library and re-read it.

I haven't seen the movie, but I'd like to. The review I read was very good.

I think it looks like a cute movie. I like the cast.

I don't see anything wrong with the message. It's totally acceptable to me for consenting adults to have any kind of relationship they want. It's rated R anyway so it's not like it's being aimed at teens.

Most teens today are going to have sex. It's just how it is. And the ones who aren't, for moral or whatever personal reasons, aren't going to be influenced by a movie title. And, honestly, a responsible, casual relationship where people genuinely care about each other as friends can be much healthier than some of the other types of teen relationships that evolve, imo.

A few years ago there was a movie with a repulsive to me title "Knocked Up". I ended up seeing it with DH and we found it charming. The father of the baby spent the whole movie proving himself to the mother. I think the couple ended up getting married, so it was a happy ending.

There's a new sitcom on with same name and storyline. I saw part of it the other night. My only real objection was I thought it was on too early. I agree that the content is a little much for children to be watching. Frankly, I don't care for it personally. But then, I control the remote.

Moni I, too, thought you had a new friend. I haven't seen the movie but I would like to see it. I also plan to see The Help. Friends with benefits is what many people have now days and I see nothing wrong with it.

Yes, I saw it. Funny movie. Didn't care for the massive nudity, or graphic sex scenes because of who I was watching it with. Although, they were pretty funny. My kids wanted to see it, so after going to an early showing of Cowboys and Aliens we went to eat dinner and buy shoes, came back to the theater and watched Friends with Benefits. It was a later movie with a lot of couples, very young couples. I was the oldest person in the theater and we were the only family there. Felt kinda weird and although I knew there was nudity in it, didn't know just how much or how graphic the sex scenes were going to be beforehand.

I haven't seen it but I HIGHLY recommend "Crazy, Stupid Love". It has Steve Carell, Juliann More, Ryan Gosling in it. It's a very non-typical romantic comedy (and I usually hate romantic comedies).

I am back from viewing it. No idea ahead of time how many love scenes would be in it. Mostly the sex scenes were held under the sheets, but you knew what was "supposed to be" going on.

We laughed a WHOLE lot, and after the show Mel and I discussed how to get rid of his skunk that took up residence in his shed.

Not quite the movie we should have gone to together... but then we are friends without benefits, and have been for a long time, and have no plans to change anything.

So, sorry if I made peeps think I had benefits... none yet, none in sight, and none wanted at this time.
