A little more on 4W driving :o)

Here is an old jeep trail from White crack road to Colorado river. It has been used in 40-50s to get to small

mine(s) when uranium rash was all rage in Utah.

The jeep trail is not on the maps anymore... I turned about after 200 yards on foot, too unstable

Another of my dad's slides........My stepgrandfather is on the left. He emigrated from Scotland in 1913 with his wife and two small children. He was a bricklayer, and did a lot of artistic work, including Grand Central Station. I was very fond of him. He loved to play cards, and fed Scotch whiskey to his parakeet. The two women in the middle are his sisters who were visiting from Scotland. That's me between them (age 14, I think), and my second mother (his daughter) is on the right.

Nicole, which one is it? I love the Austins, but it's too cold for them here, and they either stay very small or disappear entirely. The one exception was Gertrude Jekyll, which was huge and gorgeous in my garden for 20+ years. Right now I have Abraham Darby and Sharifa Asma blooming, but they're the only Austins left.

oldgardner... I can't recall the name of that flower at the moment but it is my very favorite! I use it as an accent around the edges of my hanging baskets and whiskey barrels and wash tubs full of flowers. I just love the dainty white flowers and it blooms profusely all summer for me.

Coming into Juneau, the state capital of Alaska. There are no roads that lead to Juneau. You can only get there by boat or plane.

Yes indeed, very lucky you all are to live near such breathtaking scenery! And Jodi, you're lucky to have seen the beauty of Alaska so many times!

Rocket is one healthy looking cat and his markings are unique and lovely, too! I bet he has a great appetite. :)

Gorgeous, stunning scenery, but I must say Rocket has stolen my attention. :-)

This zinnia is called "Exquisite." It opens up this color, and then changes to pink.

The only thing good about my Mini Vacation from h3ll was the view. Morning coffee on the Balcony, before it reached 102 with a heat index of 113. LOL!

Thanks for the remarks about Rocket. He is a big boy - 15 lbs!! He is the same size (though lighter) as my mini schnauzer. They are best friends!! He is a cool cat!
