Sometimes, laying in bed all day increases the pain and aches. I just had to get up and move around a little. A sewing project is mostly sitting. It did keep my mind from being sick, well... up to when I had to blow my nose. LOL, I think I'm intoxicated with vitamin C!

I made several tea pot cozies a few weeks ago, all the same style, same fabrics and with double layer cotton battings. This one for the percolator was the easiest since the pot didn't have any curves.

Thanks again. I am feeling much better today. It helps when my sleep is not interrupted by coughing and nose stuffed up. I've been sleeping well with this flue. Maybe, it's because of the seasonal warmer weather.

Houstonmom, this flue is not early in season. LOL... it's just "out of season"! Our normal flue season in Houston doesn't usually start until late October. I think, I got it because of the over 100F temperature we've been having for weeks along with the drought. Looking forward for a wet weekend predicted for this coming weekend.

You know Schoolhouse, it's really not worth selling it. I've seen tea cozy sold on eBay by US sellers for $10-$20 each. I'm not fast with my sewing projects. I figured, if I sell it for that price, I'd only make a couple of dollars an hour.

Another issue, everyone have a different size and different style coffee percolator pot. How am I going to accomodate all? I would need to custom made them and take pre-order. I wouldn't know where to begin with payment when that is involved.

It's worth more making them as gifts for friends and family though :o)

Ellie45, since the first time I made coffee in a percolator, I look forward to my mornings so much more! When made it correctly, the coffee is just smooth and wonderful! I've been collecting and purchasing percolators for friends and family ever since. Unlike Americans, we came from Asia and never knew of coffee percolators as we grew up. This is basically a new finding for us. It is much of the same concept for making loose leaves tea which is what we're familiar with. Making coffee in a percolator makes sense, using the auto electric dripper just doesn't.

I don't bother with perking coffee - too much trouble for small amounts. When I want one cup, I merely take a microwave safe cup, put in some instant coffee, add a little creamer and sweetner, and pop it into the microwave for 1 min 10 sec. Afterward, for cleanup, rinse out the cup and wipe out with paper towel.

To each his/her own Jemdandy, whatever is suitable for you. Sometimes, I make a big batch of perk coffee and refrigerate the leftovers in a glass jar. Next morning, just reheat a cup in the microwave. It tastes good enough for me :o)

That is very pretty. I love perculated coffee. I use an electric one mostly but I also have a stove top one that I mainly use for camping.

Oh, very nice! I'm a cozy-maker, too, my friends joke with me about it, wondering if I've made one for the fridge, the washer/dryer, etc. :) (I'm actually thinking of making cozies for the top of my washer and dryer because they don't match.)

I hear ya about the special orders, too- besides making things complicated, being dictated to about fabrics and colors sucks all the fun and creativity out of sewing.

Great idea. You could sew one yourself out of dish cloths or tea towels. I've seen decorative covers for toasters, coffee machines, blenders, etc. Very neat for storage on the counter. Keeps dust off and if they get dirty, they could be washed.
