Truly it is difficult to see someone heading toward a train wreck ... and knowing that there is nothing that one can do to avert it.

I am sorry that Nicki has followed this downward path: how heartsick she must be. I hope that her rehab is not too painful and that she finds healing and a wiser and stronger core being through it.

I send good thoughts and hopes to Nicki and prayers that she may soon come to a deeper knowledge and acceptance of her best self, with strength to build it well in the coming months and years.

I remember when all that happened, and how divisive it was. Some people called her out on it, as substance abuse experts advise, but some people either didn't see it, or thought that a "soft" approach was the way to handle it. I stayed out of the fray, but I know that real change doesn't happen in these situations without the person being called on her behaviour. The same thing happened with another member here. It's just not "kind" to the person and to her children to let that kind of situation continue without confronting her with it.

I'm very happy that she is now getting the help that she needs. It's the best thing she can do for herself and for her girls, and I wish her the best and hope that recovery goes well for her. She's young and has her whole life in front of her. This is the smartest thing she could do right now.

I hoe that Nicki will feel better very very soon. Thanks for letting us know Heather. We all wish her the best.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I'm really glad to see that she is getting the help she needs and hope that she recovers completely. I am not on MySpace or Facebook so thank you for updating us here. We are all pulling for her and will be with her in spirit.

I saw her post on facebook and was glad to know she was seeking help. Thank you, Heather. I know Nikki has been having a rough time, and it can't have been easy for you, either.

I posted to her facebook page yesterday when I saw it. I am so glad that she is getting help. We see that she has everything to live for and all the good in her life but she just can't see that right now. Her getting help will refocus her. I am so happy for all of you- I hope this is the start of mending your relationship too! You are all in my prayers.

You are all so sweet. I am sure it will make her feel good when she sees all of your well wishes.

The girls will more than likely be at my mother in law's house, when they aren't with their dad. (Nicki's ex husband is my husbands brother.) And my mom lives next door to my mother in law so the girls go back and forth between the two grandmas.

I am so glad that Nicki is reaching out for help. She just seemed like a lost pup lately. We all care for each other, and she is not the first, nor the last, to go through this with our blessings at the KT.

I am so happy to read that Nicki is getting help. It was so painful to watch her meltdown and not be able to say or do anything to help. She's such a beautiful gal with kids who love her dearly. Hope she finds answers and peace.

Nicki-- I don't know you well, but I felt so sorry to see you in trouble and not know it. I understand it's one of the toughest things a person can do, to admit to a problem and take the steps needed to wipe it out, one day at a time. You sure do have a ton of support here and I hope you will post if you ever feel like you need a pat on the back or a "Hang in there!!" I'll pray for you and I wish you success.

It's been a long and I think painful time for her...starting with the courage to leave an abusive marriage. Things have not been easy for her.
