Boy your post took a twist! I know of a Crystal Dick, a dentist with the last name of Toothman. Mom's cancer doc is Dr. Cashdollar and her radiologist is Judy Blume. Mom worked at a school and there was a pair of Mercedes Benz and Cinnamon Candy sisters. I hold my breath when I post this - but I have trouble with the name Nevaeh - heaven spelled backwards. I know 3 of you will have daughters with that name. Sorry...
I like the name September. I remember the funny looks I got when I asked my friend when her mother's birthday was - her name was JUNE.

Staroyce, there is a whole system of people helping others find their family members. Mostly, it's adoption related, but I think many help with other circumstances. They are called Search Angels and their services are FREE. Do not accept help from anyone who tries to charge you $$, because there are many, many good searchers who do it for free. I'm not sure which state you need help in, but here is a place to start looking for a search angel. This came up in a google search and I can't vouch for any of these people, but as long as you're not solicited for money, I would start here:

We knew a August Storm and a Holly Woods. My mom gave me a strange name and my new job has asked me to pick a nickname to be called, as no one can spell or pronounce my real name. At first I was offended, lately when I meet people I just say the nickname. I am thinking of going by the nickname in the future as it's so much easier, and I dislike the time wasted each time a person asks me my name, to explain how to pronounce it and spell it and them watching them struggle takes too much time hahaha. I am glad that I named my children traditional names, for their sake.

Wow - zombie thread! From 6 years ago. Yes, the answer came midway down the thread. It was Nikki from Niles. Although, I still can't remember who her sister, who also posted on this forum, was. I'm glad to see here that Nikki is doing well; it was touch and go for awhile.

With respect to the "crazy names" (my words), I sometimes wonder how otherwise loving parents could do that to their children. Saddling them with a lifetime of potential chuckles and eye rolling. Naming children, IMO, is something to not be taken lightly and we should do it with an eye to how it will play in their lives. However, whatever floats your boat, I guess. But I feel for the kids who grow up with crazy names.

DH had a work associate who named his two sons Montana and Utah. Montana - I could get used to. Utah - never!

Back in the 60's I had a friend whose uncle went by L.D. I asked why he didn't use his real name, she said he was actually named Lovey Dovey but didn't want anyone to know. (She was not one to make up stories, Could have been true or someone lied to her)

I had an Uncle whose middle name was 'Eleven'. He was my grandparent's eleventh (and last) child. They raised 10 children; One died soon after birth.

I knew of a girl named Crystal Shanda Lear and went to school with a boy named Thomas Thomas Thomas. I think Crystal Shanda is a pretty name, but when paired with Lear I can see why she was teased as a child.

Wondering just how a name actually affects a child over their lifetime? I never realized how many people chose a month for their child's name before reading this thread. My granddaughter was named August Noel; I thought it was a lovely sounding name when I first heard it + still do. My granddaughter did turn out to be a lovely child. Once, I was sent to an extraction specialists to have a wisdom tooth pulled. As I entered their parking lot, I was met with a sign that read: Dr's Peck and Huerty. Yeah, read it out loud.

Yeah I've heard of lots of Doc's with weird names; you can actually find lists of them on the web...Doctor Names. Imagine there's even a Dr Frankenstein! If I were going to be a doctor, I certainly would change my name to something like Dr Easy or Dr Happy!

This thread has had me thinking of people I hadn't thought about in a long time. When I worked in a hospital years ago, one of our podiatrists was named Dr. Foote. When I lived in Florida, some friends of ours named their little girl Coral and their son was named Reefe!! LOL

My name is September and I know this post is old, but Southern Virginia asked about how the unusual names affect people.
