I came late to Six Feet Under, The Sopranos, The Closer and NCIS. Yes, I really like The Closer and I am sorry to see it is Kyra's last season on the show. I have read that they have plans to change the name, keep the cast and put the captain as lead female. It won't be the same. I love all the cast, but without Brenda Leigh Johnson, we won't see her parents and her husband, who has a warm and unique relationship with his wife that is a delight to observe. I love her mother especially, and Brenda Leigh's reaction to her father. That will end, and I am sad to see it go. Kyra is great, the cast are great, and the writers supurb.

I love The Closer, too. I hate to see that it is ending. All the cast are great but I, too, will miss Brenda Leigh and her whole family.

I have been looking every day and recording the old shows that I missed. I didn't see the show when it first started and I love seeing how she came to L.A. and how the guys treated her at first ~~ until they got to know her and appreciate her skills. They recently had one on from 2006 with Provenza imitating her Southern accent.

The Closer is our favorite show on TV. The writing is fabulous and Kyra Sedgwick is incredible in her part, as are all the people in the show. I think I've seen every episode, loved it from the very beginning. I ought to buy the DVDs, they're so good.

I'll keep watching as long as Provenza is in it. :) He just kills me. The episode with the new chief and the marijuana shop murder is hysterical because of Provenza.

And they're starting to make Capt Rader a more sympathetic person, anyone else notice? The way she and Brenda butt heads is very entertaining. Great episode last night, they get some fabulous guest cast, too.

I come late to all shows. I don't watch TV on any kind of regular basis, so a show is usually a year or two old before I hear about it enough to pay attention. Sometimes I'll buy the first season on DVD to check it out.

The Closer's first season was a gift several years ago. I loved it! Since then I've bought three more seasons. This past Christmas my son-in-law gave me a Roku and Netflix subscription, so now I get to stream TV shows I've been curious about. Right now I'm enjoying Brothers & Sisters.

I am so sad to see her leave the show! We really enjoy it and as mentioned, Provenza is a hoot! I think they struck gold with the combination of personalities, they play well together and off one another. Great show!

It took me a while to figure out who the actor is who plays Brenda Leigh's father; I knew the voice was so familiar but I just couldn't place the face! I tend to not go directly to IMDB or other websites--I like to test my memory! But eventually I had to look it up (and it's "Maurice" from "Northern Exposure"!) Frances Sternhagen as her mom is fantastic, too.

I love this show. Just started watching it this year. I had also never watched even one of the Law & Order shows until last year. When I worked, I didn't have much time to watch many shows. Now that I'm retired, I can see the reruns of many that I missed over the years.

I cannot say I like The Closer, but I do keep watching it for some reason. I guess I like the fact that she is so human and along with her success comes failings as well.

Pammy, you weren't the only one who was put off by the accent. I'm a northerner who lived just south of Atlanta for 2+ yrs. I like the southern accent, but found Brenda's phony, I still do. I resisted watching the show for yrs because of it. However, my niece loves the show and insisted on watching while here one day and I got hooked on the plot and cleverness of the writing. I now love the show and watch it despite the accent.

I've never watched it but I just set up the TIVO to record a few episodes so we'll see!

I had to go and watch some scenes on their website. I wanted to hear the fake accent. WELL I know it's fake and all but I have a SIL that's from Macon and that's pretty darn close in case anyone wanted to know. I think it really depends what part of GA you are from. Because south GA is totally different.

we love the show and luckily started watching from the first episode. It will never be the same with out the same cast of characters and boy that they are LOL

""The Closer" begins its final season on Monday (July 11), but you'll have plenty of time to say goodbye to Brenda Leigh Johnson (Kyra Sedgwick) and her LAPD team.

The season's 21 episodes will stretch out for more than a year, with 10 episodes set for this summer, five for the winter and the final six in summer 2012."

I started watching the show late when there was nothing else on and I was hooked.
I think this cast is like the Taxi, the Wings Cheers etc just about perfct for their parts. I only saw Kyra in one other feature film. "Secondhand Lions"

I haven't seen the Closer, but I LOVE Rizzoli and Isles! It probably helps that I am slightly addicted to Law & Order reruns and a bunch of crime shows!

I cannot watch The Closer because of the accent. I can't explain why it grates on my ear, but it does. I wish she had chosen a Southern accent closer to what she used in Something to Talk About. That one works for me. I love Kyra Sedgewick so I hope her next role is one that I can enjoy.
