Wow why does it always seem to hit at once?

All these feelings I am having for Sydney.....leaving for college, texted with her tonight she brokeup with her boyfriend

Tan wanting to go to a new school....

Brian I haven't mentioned him but he is not taking his thyroid meds so he is very moody...

And I have been out of my cymbolta *sp* for a month now...need to find a doc here to get a new pres. as mine has expired so alllll these stupid feelings and again me sitting here crying....

I need to be sleeping but I am just cryng instead....I hate this.....Stacy sorry just wanted to vent!

Syd will be okay! It will actually allow her to have and enjoy the full college experience. It's tough for them to do the long distance thing. DS is doing that and I think it is holding him back on even going out with the guys.
you WILL find a doc, as you will make your calls tomorrow morning, right? Kick Brian's @$$ and put the pills in front of him tomorrow morn! lol
And tanner, well, you are going to check the school's website for information, and make some calls to the financ ial counselors too! It will all work out! Things will get better!

LOL Kat thru tears....I have already laid Brians pills out for him, told my sis I need the number to her doc...and Syd it is still tough on me....My family totally understands as do you all how we were always just butt to butt LOL she never left my side now she doesn't need me!
Tanner yes I will read more tomorrow on the website and we will figure out what is best for him....Thanks so much Kat...I am now turnng this off and will get back on tomorrow when Brian gets in from work...
He says payday he is buying me my own laptop so I can't screw his wk one up anymore LOL Stacy

If this is the same plant, a lady in my violet club has Gillian. She brought it to a meeting for show and tell. It was a beautiful plant with large white flowers and she said it lives on a side table under a regular reading lamp (think beside her sofa) and she said it hasn't stopped blooming in months. She had rooted babies from a leaf and gave me one. Mine is a small plant that hasn't yet bloomed but it has not had suckers either. I do have some mini plants that all they seem to do is sucker and I don't get much bloom from them...as they are small, it is hard to keep up with cutting the suckers off. Also recently I bought an evergrace at Lowes, it was loaded with bloom and I got 5 good sized suckers from it that I potted up for plants and several more that were just small and I tossed in trash. Maybe it being a space violet? I think some variety plants just sucker more than others and the suckers take the strengh of the plant to grow so less energy goes to blooming. It does take a little time for a sucker to root and grow enough to bloom. Hope it works out for you. tish

I re-read your letter. I applaud you for not abandoning your children, and leaving them to fend for themselves if you left. That is a real father. A father who will make sacrifices for the children. It sounds as if your wife was in the wrong type of counceling. It sounds as though what she really needs are classes in anger management for the well being of your children. Perhaps that is one of the things you will require of her that you will not waiver on. After re-reading your first two posts, I believe that what I suggested in the above two posts sounds like a long shot. And I can imagine how difficult it would be to pull off with a person who is angry and bitter. Especially given how you feel about her. Does she have ANY good points? If so, what are they? I think it would be so depressing to live with someone who has been depressed for 20 years, and is so angry and bitter. If it were me, (OK, I am climbing up on that soapbox for a speech) I think I would tell them that I am sick of them using depression as an excuse for rotten behavior. I would tell her that if it is real depression...meaning chemical imbalance of some sort, then to get herself to a doctor and get her medications right. And if it is depression caused by her own disappointments in life, then suck it up and put a smile on your face and start doing some of the things you need to do. Because the kids and I hate living like this, and your anger and bitterness is destroying our family and the childhood of these children. They do not get a second chance at childhood...this is it, and it is going to be happy from tomorrow on. And if you cannot be a part of making this family a happy and good place to be, then I (meaning you Dave) will step up to the plate and raise these kids and give them that happy, safe childhood. Your 14 year old has so little childhood left, and I (meaning you Dave) am going to make sure it is great! Are you on board, or are you going to continue to hide behind your depression and anger and bitterness, doing your best to make sure home life is crappy for us all? She has a choice to make here. And you may find she is on board, and will begin some new changes, or that she likes being angry and miserable...and then you will know what you need to do. Forgive me for the two messages above, as after I re-read your original posts, I realized how they must sound to someone who is really in the pits in a marriage to someone who is so angry, and bitter all the time. I am not sure any of us could actually rise to the occasion if we were in your shoes and actually pull off what I suggested above. It sounds as if the marriage is just too miserable to actually bring yourself to do as I suggested. Not that it couldn't be done, but it would take a better person than I am to pull it off. Unless she actually makes a decision to change. If she does...perhaps she will surprise you all! In my best pollyanna view...I sometimes think that we can change someone else by being really kind to them. I sometimes have these wierd thoughts that you could take her for a morning of pampering (facial, massage) and then take her for a new outfit, and take just her out to dinner. That by you treating her differently, that maybe she will thaw out, and begin to see herself differently, and begin to change and laugh and smile. That she will "want" to be a better woman for her family. Perhaps it is just wishful thinking...but just maybe????? Anyone, I forget that some people actually "like" to be angry and bitter and miserable all the time. That is their comfort zone. Perhaps she is one of those people. I don't know.

cambro5 - Totally normal to be second guessing yourself from last week (or whenever you scheduled the demo crew) until the day it's "done". bmorepanic - You're absolutely right. Drywall went up, I freaked out about how small it became (granted I closed up a wall to another room that was open). They taped the drywall, I felt better. They mudded and sanded, felt better still. Over the weekend I primed everything and it all felt small and blah again. During the mudding phase I thought I was just getting used to it, but I think you're right about unpainted drywall.

It took a lot of guts to do what you did. I'm interested to know what CPS will do. I didn't think they'd usually get involved over verbal abuse stuff or spanking, pulling, shoving, etc... only physical abuse that may be doctor worthy. Sad, and maybe not right, but that's what I thought. The best thing to get her on may have been her kicking you or, something along the lines of disturbing the public. I wonder if maybe the mother is sleep deprived and or has post partum depression. Maybe if she does, they'll get her some help. A girl I know would tell me how she was always calling her older child an idiot and yelling at her and such when she had PPD; that she would just lose it. After her PPD cleared up, she was back to normal... wonder if that could be part of it. Let us know what happens.

Oh, I'm sorry everything seems so tough right now. I had a crying jag a few weeks ago, partly because I worry about dd1 who is staying in India for several months and partly, I'm sure, because of hormones. I'm 49-- are you at that point? I don't mean to offend if you're younger!! Yes, Kat is right on all points, especially pushing you to see a doctor and getting your dh to take his meds. A screwy thyroid can really mess with the emotions. Does he say why he won't take them? There was a long thread about them recently and it was full of interesting information, especially that Synthroid doesn't help some people. We do worry about our little chickies, don't we? It's so easy for me to tell others that all will be well, but I tend to get worked up over my own when I should let them be. How is Sydney liking college so far? I left for a week just after you wrote about taking her to school-- I'm sure she'll have a great time and do well. Sounds like your ds has his feet on the ground and both of your kids are making you proud. I try to remind myself that things usually do look brighter in the morning because I can become more anxious/depressed when I'm tired. I'll make one suggestion that helps me: if you can't sleep, go watch a good sitcom or funny movie! Things WILL look better in the morning.

Aww Stacy!! Hugs to you.I have been on a crying jag since last Tues when I got all my bad news.I go for more tests on Tuesday so maybe I'll get to feeling better after the results come back.I feel bad for Larry,he looks at me wrong and there go the tears! So don't feel all alone ..we can cry together!

She will have a much more wonderful time in college if she is not tied down to any boy. This is good news for your daughter, Stacy, believe me! She won't be lonely for someone elsewhere and sitting in on a weekend. It is all part of growing up, I used to tell my kids. Then I go on to explain that the purpose of dating is to allow you to understand who the other person is and if they would make a good spouse. Done right, you will avoid marrying a mistake. Dating has served her well, though she is sad. This is a mismatch that won't happen. This freedom will help her have a better college experience.

Stacy. It is difficult to watch that firstborn head off into the world. Just remember that you've laid a great foundation and now it's time for Sydney to grow on her own and gain the confidence and knowledge to mature into her own woman.

When my kids were little I remember someone telling me that my job as a parent was "to put myself out of work." That little phrase has always stayed with me because it's true- your goal as a parent is to raise a child who matures into a strong, independent adult.

So hang in there.

By Tuesday you'll be back on the upward swing. Get the things done that you can.
My gorgeous niece broke up with her boyfriend at the beginning of college too. It was for the best though. For as much as she cared for him, college was a huge fishbowl of people for her to experience. She did too. It was the best time of her life. I hope it will be for Sydney too.

Stacy, get back on your Cymbalta as soon as possible. Going off of it will take you down really quick. Our son recently changed meds and I could see the difference in him. Syd will be ok, it'll be rough for both of you for a while, but it's a big transistion for her. "This too shall pass".

Stacy, see if the church will help pay the tuition. They may. It's worth asking anyway.
Stacy and BF have done the right thing. She's to young to be tied to one guy. It's the time for her to learn how to become independent.
Brian, kick his butt. Tell him you don't need added stress/moods right now. Then kick your own butt for letting your Rx expire.
