What is life if you don't take a few chances along the way
Comments (5)Jon - Les had grown T. 'Aureonebulosa" in Arkansas and after several attempts finally had one that had really taken hold. When we moved up to Illinois it was left behind because they don't move well. We hope the buyers of the properties still have it and treasure it. The Toku's are really fantastic once they mature. Good luck with yours. I certainly understand your enthusiasm. One of the things that fascinates me, and I don't remember the technical name, is how it's veins develop at the base as one and divide into two before gaining the tip. The Tokus have more vein pairs than any hosta I kinow of which gives them their fantastically round and rugose leaves. If only we have the patience to see them develop. I wouldn't bet my reputation on it but I think the T. A. left behind had something like 27 vp of which half were doubled. Comments (18)OA...I just clicked on your "Drawer Shadow Boxes" link above...what a great recycling project w/memories to boot! LOVE IT!!! And what you've added as decor is BEAUTIFUL...love the photos, everything! TFS this idea! And, with 2 kids that teach, I have alot of respect for good teachers & it's sure fun to find them here on the holiday forum! lynninnm posted a wonderful chalk Santa that she added to her decor this yr...I have been looking for one & found one on an after Christmas sale (still price-y tho) & am going to make a shadow box w/him...I have some old drawers from a dressing table that DH & I hauled out to my garden shed this fall...so we shall see if they work. Comments (18)Hi, Karen! I think that only Candy can get the perfect Candy shot, but I did my best...LOL! The S&P are Lenox Holiday Inspirations and Illustrations and they are on sale! I added a link to them below or you can go to the Lenox site. Inspirations and Illustration was a new addition to Lenox's Holiday line last year. I like it because there's no metal on the plates which makes them microwave safe. I think they coordinate well with the original Holiday pattern, too. Here is a link that might be useful: Lenox S&P...See Moresublingual Vitamin B12 pills.... reaction anyone?
Comments (18)The pills I have are too small I think to try & split; I will try the flush-free niancin pills again though. Yes, I think a lot of it has to do to heridity also: I am out in the sun (no sunscreen/tan-no burn... ashamed to say!) some days 6 hrs. at a time & live at a mile high, hot summers/cold winters, arid area- zone 7. Still, after taking 5,000 IU of Dry Vitamin D-3 daily my levels are on the 'low' side but bone density still OK! Daughter-in-law is a therapist & believes in alternative medicine ... herbs, 'tapping' etc.& I am western medicine trained so find it hard to accept/understand some of it. The mfg.& testing of those things is not scrutinized as well here in the U.S.as prescriptiom drugs are I feel! Our doctor is from Pakistan & he will suggest some things like tumeric capsules, the B12, etc. but doesn't push it. Mediterranean diet? we don't care for seafood nor olive oil, wine... but the fruit, etc. OK! One study of a group of close knit people in a small mediterranean village had one of the highest blood lipid levels on record ... & also very long & healthy lengivities! Go figure?!...See Moreellendi
