Here's one. Might be too wide for bathroom window.

Have you checked JC Penny?

I am not sure of the style or size curtain you need, but could you cut a white cotton shower curtain to fit?

I'm glad you brought this up. I need to replace some curtains and door panels. I can sew, but I'd prefer not to. I like the looks of the ones at the site on socks' link.

My bathroom window is over the bathtub so I use a white fabric shower liner and also use the same thing for a shower curtain using the same fancy hooks on both rods.

When I am not using the shower the window curtain is swagged and hooked onto a fancy drapery hook and when I am taking a shower I let the curtain down to cover the window and tile. I didn't cut the curtain at all. The curtain looks really nice when gathered across the window in a swag.

Just got my white one for the kids' bath at Target! Gorgeous! 'Bout $35 bucks.

"Why can't I find something like that in the stores?"

They really are not popular. Double hung windows are not being built into new homes in the bathrooms. Not all homes years ago had them either. If the window is in the shower/tub area one would want a plastic shower curtain cut down to size. Otherwise the Roman shades or window blinds seem to be what people put on bathroom windows.

One option is to get "kitchen curtains" but they are usually the cafe style. Or get a long panel and just hem it to the length you want.

Do you have a Marburn curtain store in your area? They carry a lovely, simple white, rod-pocket curtain that sounds exactly like you describe. Thin enough to let light through, dense enough not to see through. It's plain, except for a scalloped hem. I have the white ones in my living room at home, and the tan ones in my bedroom at the country house. Love the simplicity of the style, and I know they weren't at all expensive, either.

Azzalea- thanks for reminding me about Marburn. The one closest to me moved to the Shop Rite/Lowe's center on Route 130 in Delran and I seldom drive that way. I'll have to remember to stop. I need a new curtain for the hall bath.

I lucked out, McM--there's one a mile from my Camden Co home (Audubon) and guess what? One in one of the new shopping centers in V'land--so I'm covered either way! So many of the curtains in my house are from there. I can always find something I like, and the prices are excellant

was checking to see if target had their battenburg lace (a very simple trim on plain white) and found this! might be an alternative solution?? and no chance of mildew on damp fabric...in fact i'm going to check it out for dd and myself if it's the right size...

I'm not understanding how that would cover the 'ugly window frame' that the OP want to do? Is there a matching curtain? That would be kind of cool looking having curtains pulled on the side and the window film that matches or coordinates.

I think Socks found just what I am looking for. Thanks everyone for your help, and thank you, Socks, for finding the answer to my problem. I have been looking for such a curtain for maybe two years now, starting with a search for DDs bathroom.

Sheilajoyce - Glad you made that choice. I have that exact curtain, in off-white, on the single window in our main BTR. It's perfect for what we need. Enjoy!

Country Curtains is a great site. It's the only place I go if I'm not ordering something custom-made.

Thanks for the recommendation, Sable. I never heard of them before this.
