We use our for 3 or 4 days. We have large enough towel bars so that they can dry out between uses. However, my husband uses a fresh washcloth each time (I use a bath puff).

On the other hand, we use a fresh dishcloth or towel each time we do cleaning in the kitchen and we definitely don't use a sponge. I think that's the most sanitary way.

Can you tell my conservation bent wars with my sanitary bent?

We use ours maybe twice...they usually get washed every day if I am on top of it. :)

at least 2 or 3 times for DH and I...the kids...ONCE...they wont hang a towel and I've stopped trying to sweat the small stuff...

Usually 2 or 3 times. In hot weather, maybe less if it gets that sour smell.

Funny,DDIL and I were just discussing that a few days ago because DS uses his once then throws it in the bathroom floor!LOL I use mine 5 or 6 times.I hang it up and it dries on the towel rack.I use a small hand towel to dry the "south end" as patti says,so the bath towel doesn't touch that part.LOL DH uses his bath towel many times too,and he is well trained about not leaving it on the floor but hangs it on the towel rack to dry.I cleanse and wash my face out of the shower and wash out the washcloth with liquid hand soap after each use and hang it to dry also.I use it 3 or 4 times.
Something else DDIL and I can't understand.DS(actually both DS's and DGS do this)uses a towel to dry off with and puts one on the floor to stand on even though there is a bath mat on the floor.Anyone else have that problem?

I usually bath every other day unless I garden or work up a sweat in some way. So I pull the bath towels off the rod once a week, the hand towels every day. I have an itching problem, the doc advised me to not bathe daily.

Use the bathtowels 5 or 6 days, we're clean when we use it.
Now, if someone is ill, or Mother Nature is calling, change out daily.

Have 1 that is just for my hair, it gets tossed in weekly.

I am glad to know that my husband is not the only one that uses one every day and throws it in the bathroom floor, I thought he was the only one in the world that did that annoying thing. I use mine several days so I don't have to wash big towels as often with his daily and sometimes he has two per day. Two days and I have to wash towels and they are so big and heavy you can only put that many in the washer.

We both have our own baths, and have enough towel rods to hang all bath towels on to dry....they are near the vent, and we have the furnace fan running 24/7. We use them for about a week. We have one for our hair, and one for our body. Hopefully you are just wiping off the water when you dry yourself, otherwise you aren't cleaning your body enough while you are showering! ??

Once. Even if you're clean there are parts like feet and between toes that get dried and the thought of reusing a towel after that disgusts me.

I'll use a towel usually 3-4 days. But I'll overlap--if it's near the end of the 'cycle', I'll start a second towel for my face, but still use the 'old' towel for the other areas. Then, after a day or 2, the 'face' towel becomes the 'body' towel.

Want to hear a good one? I have a BIL who will not use a towel twice--BUT neither will he use the same towel for his face and body. So he goes through 2 towels for each shower! Now that's just ridiculous. He's lucky I'm not his wife--he'd either be changing his habits or learning out to run the washer (I think his wife does all his wash)

Once. The best part of a shower is the fresh, clean towel at the end!

DH and I use our towels 3-4 times before washing them. We have towel hooks on the back of our bathroom door so we keep the towels there to dry. We do reuse the towels for the kids too. I have found since I started bleaching the towels they smell fresher longer.

I only use a wash cloth or a bath towel once. The towel that I use for my hair I will leave out for drying my hands the next day.

3-4 times for both of us as well.

I have probably 100 towels...so I use a different one every day.

We also have paper towels in the main bathroom so guests can use them if they prefer.

Only once for me. Grosses me out to think of using it more. I am one of those paranoid people who think the towel gets the dead skin cells the wash cloth loosened and the water didnt rinse away.

I'm ticked if I can't get a month out of it.

Multiple times before washing. I get wet and clean from a shower, use the towel which picks up the water off of clean me, then it dries. A clean towel dries a clean body then dries. It seems terribly wasteful to (in my opinion, needlessly) use a new towel every day. Now, here in the Northeast we've had very humid, damp weather, so the towels often haven't dried in between. I've kept 2 going, and use one every other day. In other words, one dries while I'm using the other.

I tend to grab them up to wash more often during this type of weather because I don't like if they haven't dried (and could then start to smell). (I don't have air conditioning or a dehumidifier).

Now, I do live along but if I shared a house with someone and they used my towel, I'd not use it again. Yes, same argument (it dried a clean person), but I need to insist that it's clean me, not clean someone else. LoL.

I never heard of anyone using a towel only once before I read about it here on this forum a while ago! :-) To each their own.

i use a bath towel twice. Hang it up to dry in between.

Probably 3 times, maybe 4. I don't have a washer and dryer and have to go to the laundry mat, so I've learned to stretch things out longer between washes. It doesn't gross me out at all to use the same towel more than once. I'm the only one who touches it.

I grew up with my mom washing sheets and towels once a week. I wash towels once a week and sheets every one to two weeks. I use a separate towel for my hair. When I used washcloths, I used a clean one daily.

What Linda said goes for me, although some weeks the towels get washed twice. Handtowels get changed 2 to 3 times a week.

I use bath and shower towels only one time before they go into the wash. Don't want to redeposit dead skin and other things from my nether region back on to my clean body. NancyLouise

I am curious as to why some don't use a fresh towel on their body but say they won't reuse a dish towel. Aren't your dishes clean before you dry them?

We use ours 3-4 times. I let DH deal with his washcloth, so I'm not sure how often he changes that. I use a bath puff.

I use mine once and then let it dry on the edge of the tub and use it for a rug the next time I take a bath. The washcloth I hang on the faucet to drip and use it a couple of times

I never reuse my dishtowels. Yes my dishes are clean when I wipe them, but there is no telling who might have grabbed the towel once it has been hung up to dry. I guess if I was the only one home using them, I'd be more secure in reusing a dish towel.

(I'm not known for eating food off my body, so my bath towel doesn't need to be quite as "antiseptic".)

Clean wash cloth daily,the towel i use at least 3 times B4 changing.DH on the other hand changes both daily.He also does the laundry these days,so i don't care.LOL

Can't remember which end of the towel you used for your face? I saw a solution to that problem in a gadget catalog. It was a GUY towel set. The lower half was brown and the upper half was a lighter color. The upper part was labeled, FACE, and the lower part, BUTT. I never order from these catalogs, but I almost ordered this one.

I go through a lot of towels weekly; when my boys were at home it was worse, because they are are like me..my DH however could care less if he has a "clean towel"..I just don't get it!

How do you know which end you wiped your bum on....I sure son't want that "end" on my face!!!

I wash hubby's and my bath towels once a week. We each have our own hook and we hang them to dry every time. No worries about which end of the towel to use where - never thought about it (though I might now - thanks a lot!). I use a separate towel for hairdrying.

Now, my sons, on the other hand, have never quite figured out how to hang up a towel. Theirs usually get washed every other time, if I can get them hung to dry before they lay in their bathroom floor too long.
