okay, I dug through my library of cookbooks and found both the 1963 lst printing of Joys of Jello and an anniversary book. There are several choices. One is jello,& pudding, cooked together and then when cooled you added Dream Whip, That picture looks pretty fluffy. But I used to just make jello, & add real whip cream. Thats a Bavarian. but there is also layered cheesecake, with graham crackers, cream cheese, light cream. It also helps if we know when this started because these recipes were popular at certain times. There was a product called 123 jello I think that came out fluffy because it had whipped topping or something in it. So all of those recipes came out pastel and fluffy. The carnation milk --do you know if it was condensed milk or evaporated? I'll give you the recipe as soon as you guess which it was or have more clues. Maybe there are family cookbooks, or you could remember what the cookbook looked like. the original was spiral bound with a red wineglass of jello on the cover.

WONDERFUL PEACH COBBLER (serves 8) 8 cups sliced fresh peaches (4-5 lbs) 2 cups sugar 3 TBL flour 1/2 tsp nutmeg 1 1/4 tsp almond extract 5 1/3 TBL butter Pastry for a double crust pie Combine peaches, sugar, flour & nutmeg in a large saucepan. Let stand 20 minutes until syrup forms. Bring peach mixture to a boil, reduce heat & cook 10 minutes. Remove from heat; blend in almond extract & butter, stirring so the butter melts. Preheat oven to 475°. Butter an 8x12" baking dish. Roll out 1/2 the pastry on a floured surface into an 8x12" rectangle. Spoon 1/2 the peach mixture into the buttered dish; top w/the pastry rectangle. Bake 12 minutes. Spoon the remaining peaches over the baked pastry. Roll out remaining pastry & cut into 1/2" wide strips. Arrange over the peaches in a lattice design. Return to the oven & bake 10-15 minutes until lightly browned.~~from Peachtree Bouquet

I made these this year and they were excellent - and they were chewy despite the "crackle" in the name. Alexa Double Ginger Crackles 10 oz. (2-1/4 cups) unbleached all-purpose flour 2-3/4 tsp. ground ginger 1 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. table salt 6 oz. (3/4 cup) unsalted butter, at room temperature 1-1/3 cups granulated sugar 1 large egg, at room temperature 1/4 cup molasses 3 Tbs. finely chopped crystallized ginger Tip: For the best results, measure your flour by weight instead of volume. (1 cup of all-purpose flour equals 4-1/2 oz.) If you donâÂÂt have a scale, be sure to use the proper technique when filling your measuring cups. ________________________________________ Position racks in the upper and lower thirds of the oven and heat the oven to 350ðF. Line two large cookie sheets with parchment or nonstick baking liners. In a medium bowl, whisk the flour, ground ginger, baking soda, and salt. In a large bowl, beat the butter and 1 cup of the sugar with an electric mixer (a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, or a hand-held) on medium-high speed until well blended. Add the egg, molasses, and crystallized ginger; beat well. Add the dry ingredients and mix on low speed until well blended. Pour the remaining 1/3 cup sugar into a shallow bowl. Using a 1-Tbs. cookie scoop, a small ice cream scoop, or two tablespoons, shape the dough into 1-inch balls. Roll each ball in the sugar to coat. Set the balls 1-1/2 to 2 inches apart on the prepared cookie sheets. Bake, rotating the sheets halfway through baking, until the cookies are puffed and the bottoms are lightly browned, 12 to 14 min. If you touch a cookie, it should feel dry on the surface but soft inside. The surface cracks will look a bit wet. Let the cookies sit on the cookie sheet for 5 min. and then transfer them to a rack to cool completely. When cool, store in airtight containers. Ginger flavor intensifies with time, making these cookies excellent candidates for long keeping. When stored in an airtight container, the cookies remain impressively delicious for up to five days from baking. Well wrapped, the cookies will keep for several weeks in the freezer.

Sally, this is the recipe I use for pie crust and cobbler crust. It is easy and always turns out good. Never Fail Flaky pie crust 2 c. flour , 1 T. milk 1 t. salt , 1/4 c. boiling water 3/4 c. crisco (I use butter flavor crisco) Blend flour, salt and crisco together with pastry blender. Add milk and water and roll in ball. Divide in half and roll out between two sheets of wax paper and ease into two pie pans. If making cobbler I freeze one ball in the freezer until needed and roll the other out to put on the top of the fruit. For the cobbler, peal and slice 4 c. ripe peaches add 3/4 c. sugar and 2 T. flour Put in 8X8 pan and cover with crust. Bake at 350 for 45 min. You can weave top in strips or top with whole crust. I usually sprinkle the top with cinnamon sugar. You can put a crust on the bottom and one on the top if you want. If you like the fruit mixture thicker add a little more flour.
