RavenCajun, you asked in the other thread what was so special about the Rayon and if I was going to be applying some type of finish with it. I'll be using mine to just mop the floors. I had a Rayon mop several years ago and loved it. The floors seem to dry quicker using it. When it came time to buy another mop..I bought a cotton mop. It lasted just a few months then started leaving fuzz everywhere. Which mean I had to sweep,mop, then sweep again. Last time I bought a mop was about 3 months ago. Looked for a Rayon one then, with no luck, so ended up buying a Lion's Club cotton mop. Money goes for a good cause, etc.! Well..that mop already needs to be replaced because it is shedding! Sooo...I decided I was going to get another Rayon. That was day before yesterday. I spent THREE days looking for one, made numerous calls, posted here at the KT,etc. Then, this evening I went to Walmart with a friend and decided to "just check"...and there it was!!! Price? $7.98!!!

I'll never get tired of pics of this special room in the woods! Any nature lover would love to spend time there. It's right out there in it, yet has all the comforts. DD, I said ALL the comforts, I don't think you forgot one thing! WOW deb!! what a nice box to send!! i know you are gonna love to plant them sandy!! :')) when i went to go get em's gloves they had mostly little ones, then i was thinking well my hands are bigger, and what if she's like me and likes them looser?? hmm so i tried a bunch of different gloves on, and then i found a pair i thought were cool, and grabbed some, LOL and was just praying that she didn';t have dainty hands!! LOL :')) candles are always sooo nice to have!! :')) ohhh man this is gonna be close!! last time i put one at the 149 mark we went to 151 LOL i found this thing i'll post the link its way cool!! if ya like hummerbirds, you'll love this!! the video is sooo cool, she's feeding them out of her hand! well the flower is in her hand and the nector is in her hand. how awesome!!! Errr!!! i really do need to keep in touch w my brothers more often! instead of just when i hear something aweful. i remember when it used to be a sunday thing, call everyone and talk and see whats been going on, geez now we just go about life and thats it. i'm trying to wait cuz he's in oregon and he's two hrs behind us. Barb, I got my DH to join in the gardening chores by putting him in charge of the compost outpost. I had three bins, but since he is such a manly man he insisted that we needed ten. So now we have ten bins, all lined up like soldiers at roll call. He keeps them turned over and sifts the compost in a special sifter that I built from 2x4's and 1/2" hardware cloth. It's great when they think they are in charge of something. Last year he told me to get all the seedlings out of the kitchen and then in sheer frustration told me to get a greenhouse. Oh, what a tangled web we weave......Mwahahahaha!!! If he only knew. So I got the greenhouse and it is fabulous and he can't say a thing against it since it was his idea. My DH was holding a rake a couple of weeks ago, I got a picture of it. I don't think you've done anything wrong, frankly I think you are on the right track. Cheryl

Thanks for the nice comments, all. I hope to take pics tomorrow and get them up Monday. @jam sf we actually ordered it through a tile store in Key West ( nowhere near us, long story) but I have seen similiar tile online, including at Amazon. I'm sure there are other patterns as I've seen some on this board, but I never looked into it because I knew I wanted the 1-inch mosiac. @willemsen: we used Bright White. We did a sample of Alabaster but felt it made the tile look pinkish. I was worried that the bright white would be too white, but we're thrilled with the final look. And yep, it does sparkle with the UCLs on. :) more to come, I promise.

Yep..it's a string mop! My mop bucket has a place to wring out the mop. It's on one end of the bucket, put the mop in, twist and wring it out!! Or...I just wring it ot with my hands! I mopped the kitchen earlier and it was dry in no time at all!!

I'm sure I've reached a milestone of some kind. A gal shouldn't get this thrilled about a dang MOP!!!

Aren't we lucky that it doesn't take much to make us happy!!!?? I too finally found a string mop at WM. Also, scissors in every room, and of course, plastic mayo jars :-)

Yahoo, country_bumpkin! I too will only use a string mop with a good, sound wooden handle. Should you have trouble again, Don Haslett's www.cleanreport.com has them. You do need to buy their handle once because the mop section screws into the bottom, but you won't believe how good they are nor how they last.

Have you ever used the kind of mop that you just put a old towel in?

I have one of those. The top opens up and you slide a small towel in and clamp it down.

Those are awesome - it is easy to wring out and you can wash the towels easily when you are done.

I mostly use my swiffer now. I use microfiber clothes in the swiffer and ammonia/water on my vinyl floor. I just use a plain damp swiffer cloth on my wood if I need to mop something up on that.

The mop I thought you were looking for is the one iowagirl is talking about. I cannot find the mop handle! I too use old towels for the mop. I had one and the springy thing broke off.

Now I'm curious about the "towel" mop! lol

I'm going back to Walmart this weekend and grab another one. I was so excited about finding a Rayon mop...I didn't thinking about getting TWO of them, until after I got back home! lol

Well I learned something because I really had never seen or heard of rayon mop heads on string mops, all the ones I had seen were cotton.
