Hi everyone,

I decided to make a website to store all of our information.

I am using the "Getting to know each other" thread and any other information you would like to add.

If you DO NOT want me to include anything from your post please let me know.

If you have any pictures I will gladly add them. Help me get this thing up an running.

I need the KT Mapit site someone started about Christmas time. (The URL address)

I'd like to list all of our Birthdays & Anniversaries.

I will include links to any of your favorite sites.

If you can think of anything you want to add to this site let me know.

Do you have a favorite recipe? I'll put up a recipe page.

Don't post here too much even though we do live in a northern state, just below you, we did not go south this year like last year due to husband's medical trips. But I do enjoy your post on the KT and do hope you have a great Christmas and Santa brings you everything you want.

nanzjade, the rose in the last picture is Heart o'Gold. It's a grandiflora rather than a climber, but does go through similar color changes as Joseph's Coat...pink & gold variations only, though (no red). HoG gets tall here...7 ft+ tall by end of season, but stays rather narrow at only around 2 1/2 feet wide. It isn't a thorny rose, but not completely thornless, either. The blooms themselves have long cutting stems and are wonderful in a vase. Here are a couple more pictures of it:

Trust me, Mama, you need that washer NOW not tomorrow. The drum light comes on when you open the door and off after a few seconds or when you turn off the washer. Yes, you have two buttons - one turns on and off the washer and the other one starts the cycle. You can press the cycle start and turn on the washer but you might not be able to open the door if the washer is on. There are some safety features about when you can and can't just open the door so don't jerk on it when you think the laundry is finished, especially if you have the Fan Fresh option on. After all these years, I still forget once in awhile that the washer door lock is engaged while the machine is ON, even if it doesn't seem to be doing anything at the moment, lol. It's smarter than me, thank God. I can see some Herculean guy rip the door off because he thinks it's stuck.

Joann, this is so very sweet of you - thank you! I think it would be really nice if each of us would put our face with our story. If someone wishes to do so (I don't want to be the only one!), we would just email it to you, right Joann?

Do you think it would be okay if I could post the homemade laundry detergent recipe that many of us use? If so, here it is.

Homemade Liquid Laundry Detergent

1 Fels Naptha bar soap (Sunlight Bar for Canadians)
1 cup washing soda
1/2 cup borax
4 cups hot water

Grate bar of soap and add to saucepan of hot water. Stir continually over medium-low heat until soap is melted.

Fill a 5-gallon pail half-full with hot water. Add melted soap, washing soda and borax. Stir well until all powder is dissolved. Add more hot water until the pail is full.
Stir, cover and let sit overnight to thicken.

The next morning it will be a gel-like consistency.
Dilute the gel 1/2 and 1/2 with water in a laundry jug.

Use 1/2 cup for top-load machines and 1/4 cup for front-load. (I just fill the cap on the laundry jug)

The concentrate can be used as a stain pre-treater.
It works great to remove carpet stains!

I need a good link for the Mapit, the one I have isn't working. I re-did the links so they are click-able.

Joann, that is really ambitious of you to take this on. It will be a lot of work to include all the things you mentioned. I hope you are using copy/paste and not typing all that info over. You'll have carpal syndrome!

Wonderful idea. I, too, had trouble with reading it. The printing is small and light. I still will be checking it from time to time. So nice of you to do it and share with all of us.. I know something like this takes a lot of time... Again, thanks...
