Never heard of them, but they sound good. My mother used to make apple fritters, fried dough with apples, served with powdered sugar. I haven't had one in years-must ask Mom for the recipe next time we talk on the phone.

When I taught home ec we would take those brown and serve rolls, roll them in condensed milk, then coconut, and bake.

Kids loved them.

I have never made them myself, but someone was selling them recently at a community event as a fundraising. They were delicious! They had an electric deep fryer plugged in, used refrigerated biscuit dough, cut it into maybe half, rolled it, fried it, coated it and sold them 6 in a paper bag. And that table was doing much better than any of the traditional bake sale tables. You could just follow the scent to find that table, it smelled sinfully good.

I've eaten fried biscuits...like those that come in a can, and have eatten fried rolls at Chinese buffets. I eat them for dessert, and put some chocolate pudding on them, when I am at the buffet. Other than that, the idea isn't particularly appealing to me.

I have never heard of them. I am not surprised. People deep fry everything now...Oreos, pickles (which is not new to me), Twinkies...

I would like them, since I am sure they aren't good for you. LOL

We used to have a restaurant here that sold them. I loved those things. They were served with honey butter. They called them scones, but they weren't like any scone recipe I've ever seen on the 'net. More like an indian fry bread.

I have never eaten them Or heard of them. But I am crazy for cinnamon and sugar so I know I would be willing to try them!! Bring them on...(;-)

Just buy a package of brown and serve rolls, heat up that Fry Baby and take a couple and fry them and roll them in cinnamon sugar with a big dollop of apple butter. You don't have to fry up the whole package and eat them! :)

my mother always just took tubes of refrigerated buttermilk biscuits like hungry jack and fried them in oil and then rolled them in sugar and thats what they serve at the chinese restaurant here too or you can use cinnamon and sugar

When we were kids we would beg Mom to make us some "English Muffins" Every day that she made home made bread she would take a small ball of dough and flatten it between her hands, sometimes putting cornmeal on the outside but more than often not, fry it in a bit of oil in the old cast iron frying pan. When golden brown and puffed up they were so good with just a bit of butter, or cinnamon sugar, or whatever we wanted to put on them. It was really hard not to burn your tongue as you waited for them to cool enough to eat. Most carnivals or exhibitions have booths that sell the same but are called beaver tails, or elephant ears and have a variety of toppings. The dough may then be sprinkled with things such as granulated sugar, powdered sugar, cinnamon, fruit sauce, chocolate sauce, cheese, maple syrup, whipped cream, tomato sauce, garlic butter, Lemon Juice, honey and butter or a combination of more than one of these. Yummy...once past the lips forever on the hips....:(
