Turned out that the rumors were flying so badly yesterday, that the shooting at the PX was one of them. Thank God. Because then we would have even talked children being in the way of this maniac. After all was *safe* and no more shooting or other things that could have still happened, my headache was gone. Filled by emptiness. It is taking me 4FR this morning to come up with the right words. HOW do you WRITE down this horror. The Sorrow. All the people directly involved, had to go through and will continue to have to live with when they think back to this day. How it changed their lives :-(( Karyn I believe that his punishment is going to be worse then the immediate death. Having died right there, would have been the easy way out for this man. Or? Hubby works WAY out there on that huge Post...so he finally walked through the door little before 10pm. Tired but safe. If it would not have been for this forum with all of you who care so much, I think I would have not made it passed the shaking and fear that filled my body. You helped me with so much, even though there was no danger to ME OR MY HUBBY...but I always fear for all innocent lives being taken. And that was so close to home :-( Hugs Lucy

Well, my theory might be hosed. As I mentioned, I have never worked on a SZ fridge. Turns out the freezer is isolated from the refrigerator and they do not share air circulation across the freezer to the fresh foods storage compartment. Therefore, it is possible to have a cooling problem unrelated to anything going on in the freezer section. Being sure the present block of ice is melted, button up the unit and confirm that the circulation fan inside the fresh foods area is turning on when the door interlock is actuated. It should run when the unit is cooling and the door is closed with the lights off. You should hear the compressor start up and you should hear a fan blowing air across the condenser coils. Check for all of those things. If they are all present, all fans turning, all passageways clear of ice or completely clean of dust bunnies in the case of the condenser, then you have to start looking in the sealed system or the electronics. But I always try to look at the cheaper and easier fixes first before succumbing to the big stuff.

Thank you all so much for the kind words, well wishes, thoughts and prayers. I read through them every day still, and they always lift me up and make me smile. I've been a bit overwhelmed with the inevitable details of Dad's passing. Please forgive me for not answering each post. There will be a funeral ceremony in the near future at the military cemetery in Michigan. I'm in the process now of making plans to fly back to be with my family there, and taking care of all the many, many details that it involves at this end. So, please allow me to just say, "Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindnesses to me and my family!". Lynn

Kitty, I understand you no longer feel hurt... it was a passing moment worthy of note - don't worry about how you felt then or feel now. At any rate, I was out at a restaurant Sunday. As an acquaintance joined me, she was handed a flower by the staff. I'd already been seated, no flower. Suddenly, the staffer gave me a rose, too, wishing me a happy Mother's Day. "But I'm not a mother,", I immediately thought, and wanted to hand it back. But I'm not one for a scene, and besides it was actually quite pretty. So I thanked the waitress, and after she left, I noted, "ah, I guess being a cat - mom must count?!" (I had a hysterectomy at age 31, and while I regretted being childless when my brother had two daughters, I'm fine about this now. For me, Mother's Day is simply remembering my own mother, and acknowledging the full and largely-happy life she had lead.)
