Is anyone else tired?

I've got an hour and 45 minutes left to work before the 'weekend' gets here and I'm tired. I'd like to either lay my head down and take a nap, or dump work and go 'play' in my garden.

Is anyone else tired too early today? What's your remedy?

Funny you should mention that. I've felt the same way for two days.

Oddly enough, my most reliable remedy is to mow the lawn. I use semi-self-propelled push mower. I don't know what it is about lawn mowing, but on days with no other exertion is even possible, a half-hour of mowing makes me feel infinitely better, even when I can barely drag myself to the barn to get the mower. I have fibromyalgia, and sometimes it feels as though my energy plug has been pulled. Lawn mowing seems to restore it, but I don't know why.

It worked yesterday, and I'm going to try it again today.

They may be an ivilliage thing but there is obviously some way to stop or prevent them because I don't see them. I have Verizon DSL that has a pop-up blocker but I don't think it's anything fancy. I use the Google Tool Bar and it has more pop-up blocker stuff on it. I also run Ad-Aware and Spybot at least once a week and clean out my temp files every other day or so. No problems. It all only takes a few minutes to do, it's free and its worth it.

come on, gina... fashion's no longer geared towards elegant ladies like it was right up through the 60's... fashions all about 12 year olds, now. as in you gotta be built like one to wear most of the stuff... HOWEVER, to quote Women's Wear Daily "Donatella CLOTHES her models.." looks like even the fashion industry has realized that they've taken 'sexy' too darned far... most of us don't even WANT to wear a knock off of a versace any more... black bandaids and sequins just don't do much for me, eh? all the really good stuff I own hearken to another era... if not another century. my mom's seater sets. my grandmother's flapper gowns (which covered a lot more skin than you'd think...) fancy-fabric leggings that go with blousy pirate shirts (think 'cutthroat island') and soft boots... jeans have been an american uniform since forever... the 50's turned them into icons (remember, women wearing pants in public used to cause scandal!) now... they're just common.

It's not just the constant diet talk, it's also the labeling of every single food as "good" or "bad." And the judging of oneself as "good" or "bad" depending on what has been eaten that day. There's food and then there's food fixation. There are times I just want to yell, "People! It's just food! Stop letting it run your life!" The woman with the seven jelly beans--why did she have to give them away? Why couldn't she save them for tomorrow or the next day? Or throw them out? Or a good friend of mine who will never, ever eat dessert, but if we eat out, she'll urge me to get one and then she watches me eat it. It's creepy. It's one thing to monitor what you eat. I do it--today I had three servings of fresh fruit, two servings of vegetables (one green, one orange), three servings of carbs and two of protein. I took my vitamins and I drank nine glasses of water. And I had three cookies after dinner. But I didn't talk about it at all. It's interesting to me, but I don't expect it to be interesting to anyone else. A lot of the time, in workplace conversations about food, it seems as if people are trying to prove that they are dieting harder or more strictly than anyone else. The whole business in the OP about not having sugar in one's coffee--who really cares except the person drinking the coffee? Why is it a subject for conversation? It's not a useful exchange of information about healthy food, it's a contest. And I think it's the contest aspect of it that turns me off.

"Ramp up"? At the back of a flat-bed trailer, often called a "float", there are a couple of tubes at each side of the back, and two ramps, 6 - 8' long, with a tube at each side of one end of each, and two long bolts going through each set of those four tubes to attach the two ramps to each side of the back of the trailer. Swing the ramps up from the trailer and over, letting them drop to the ground. Then drive your tractor with the front end loader and a bucket on the back up the ramps on to the trailer. Then swing the ramps back up and over, to lie on the trailer just behind the tractor. My landlord the sod farmer does that every few days, to help lay the sod beside the houses that the builders are putting up. They have things like that at the back of the big transport aircraft, to drive heavy equipment up into them. It's usually used with regard to a project that's been operating on a small scale and is being increased. Disturbing word? Incredible!! Along with some that you've mentioned: "myself" one of the main ones. "A million and a half people evacuated ...". How do you evacuate half a person? And if you're evacuating a million ... is the extra half one really that important? " ... as of yet ...", used by newscasters, etc. ole joyful

I used to call 3pm arsenic hour...it's when the kids would come home from school and I would be exhausted from going like a house afire all day...we're on summer hours now...so I haven't had that tired feeling for awhile...but it'll start again August 13th! sometimes I would drink a Mountain Dew...that caffeine pick me up would see me to bedtime!

Sometimes a cup of coffee or tea can perk you up for the rest of the day. It's Friday, and it's normal to be tired.

Used to really tickle me when I was a kids to hear one of my Dad's friends, in his 80's used to say, "I'm plumb wore down!"

Some days I feel like that myself- especially when I have to drive in a big city now that we live in the country where a traffic jam is 7 cars at the Post Office.

NO mowing for me this week; it's 99 degrees here & even the weeds are drooping. Saw a neighbor mowing earlier & with no rain for ages it's so dry the dust was flying. Don't know how he could see where he was going, much less breathe!

Yes, After spending Thursday up all night in the hospital and not able to stay asleep tonight I am shot. Plus I am hosting my 15 year reunion and making most of the food for that, just hoping for a good turnout. Between 3 kids, a sick DH and 6 months pregnant, I am exhausted.

I used to be full of zip but each day it lessens.for no reason. Here's something you might be interested in knowing about. At the Health Food stores-they carry a B-12 pill that dissolves under your tongue. You only take 1 daily..I take it at the time of day I feel like my 'energizer batteries' are getting ready to die! They seem to last (for me), about 5 good hours, so if I have a busy evening planned, I take one 5-6pm...AND they don't even keep you awake at night when taken that late in the day!These aren't like a diet pill-no buzz-they just literally make you feel invigorated! It may take your body a day or two to see any change-the 1st week I started taking them? One day I found myself cleaning dresser drawers & thought "Good grief! WHAT am I doing????" Just ask the clerk for a bottle and try them...let us know if you see a difference!

Yep, been working alot of overtime with only one day off in between. I have three days off now and am still running around it seems. Tomorrow I'm going to relax and take it easy so I can go back and work some more overtime.
