Leftover chicken and rice...a dish my mom used to make. No one here likes it but me. Oh, well...more for me...as my mom used to say-lol.

Well, I'd help you eat it, Kathleeen. I like both chicken and white rice and chicken with yellow rice.

Carol in CA, I've had that cake you posted on yesterday's dinner thread and you're right. I just couldn't leave it alone. It tastes like wedding cake to me--and that's always a good thing!

I had pork and sauerkraut along with mashed potatoes. When I know what day my son is coming over to mow or whatever, I try to cook enough for him to take home with him. So knowing he was coming to mow and to move my computer tower up where I can reach it, I cooked a meatloaf and broccoli/cheese soup, along with the kraut stuff today. He was very happy to get a couple of meals to go.

We're having chicken piccata, pasta with marinara sauce for a side and some tossed salad. No dessert. Usually only have dessert when we have company.

We are having spaghetti with meat sauce, salad with Italian dressing, and garlic bread at the request of my granddaughter. Can't say I disagreed with her.

I have a wine pot roast in the crockpot. It sure smells good. We will have mashed potatoes, sauteed spinach and a salad.

My aunt called to see if we wanted to go over for dinner and we just can't turn down a dinner at anyone's house.

Spaghetti and meatballs, caesar salad, and lemon meringue pie for dessert. We're full to the gills. :)

We had homemade lasagna. Hubby made a big pan yesterday for a party and a small pan for us for today.

Shirley, you're so sweet to think of sending food home with your son. Meatloaf is an excellent choice. Never saw a man that didn't like it. The jury's out on the cake. I'll let you know.

Georgysmom, we usually just have fruit of some kind for dessert, but that cake called to me! Unfortunately, we were too full of real food towant any except for a tiny end piece each. The ganache was a little overwhelming to me. Way too chocolate-y for me. I would really prefer no frosting at all, I think.

Walnutcreek, yup, you have to have that garlic bread. Your dinner is one of my favorites--with plenty of parmesan cheese :-)

Nita, is that a new recipe or can I find it someplace. You always have great recipes!

Lucky you, Jasdip. I always appreciate an invitation although there are not many in our retirement community. I am sometimes surprised/shocked that most of the women I've met don't cook at all. They say they're retired, too.

Pam, applause to your DH. Nice of him to make a pan for home, too. Lots of Italian food tonight. It must be getting cooler outside.

oh my gosh I am stuffed! We went to Willie's and I had the shrimp po boy it is huge, I have half left for lunch tomorrow plus we had their wonderful French fries and the enormous fried onion rings, I have a lot of that left over too. So good!
