This didn't happen today, but it sure made me smile when it did happen a few years ago. I was sitting in the waiting room of a business. A tall good looking guy came in wearing nicely creased blue jeans, a white western shirt, a tan leather blazer and a gorgeous cowboy hat. He looked at me, tipped that hat and said "Howdy Mam" It not only made me smile, but made my heart flutter too. sigh Dottie

Yes to both your questions, especially the one about you getting cuter (although I don't think it's old age but probably your sunny disposition, kind smile and twinkle in your eye).
Dottie, here in Texas we encounter tall guys wearing jeans, starched white shirts, and gorgeous cowboy hats all the time. We call them Texas Rangers.

Well gee Glenda, if soon approaching 70 is making you cuter, then that means I will get cuter too come Sept. and that just put a smile on my face.

I love the stories about the guys in the creased blue jeans, the starched white western shirts, cowboy boots and hats. There is nothing hotter than a guy wearing all of that...especially if the jeans are tight on their butt. And I think cowboys are especially polite...it is the way they are raised, I think.

I had my ego stoked last week at Best Buy. Some good music playing in the CD area and I was tapping my food and kinda jiving. LOL! I was looking for a new Toaster Oven and the stock boy was there. I asked him to load the Oven for me. He asked if "my Husband was going to be at home to unload it?" I told him I didn't have one of those.

He said, "I'm available". He's about 26-27. LOL! I told him I was old enough to be his Grandma.

I guess he thought I was a "Cougar". LOL! That's what we are Glenda "Cougar's". Praying on the young.

Nobody is much cuter than you Glenda. You do have that nice smile and twinkle in your eyes.

No Glenda. You're getting cuter. In this hot weather people aren't getting nicer, so it has to be that you're getting cuter. That's a good thing to happen to you since you're fixing to go on a trip. Gives you a lot to look forward to!

I DO find that men are friendlier, no matter what age, towards women vs women friendly to women. Meaning strangers.

When I go to my health club, I find men coming and going are more apt to say, Howdy do, etc, vs the women.

I'm 57, never been good looking but I smile a lot and always try to be nice to people. Guys (younger than me) are always starting conversations. Last week at Subway the guy in front of me started up a conversation about the weather, floods, pets, dead pets. When he left he said to me "Thanks for the conversation". What a doll! I have often wanted to ask these guys if they have girlfriends, because I have two single daughters.

Been, lately, walking at health club.
First time I did, nice man was walking in the other lane, and was supposed to pass me, as the rule says, not to walk side by side.
Instead, he struck up a conversation with me. How's the weather, do you come here often, etc. Then others were coming around, so he moved on.
Then I went downstairs, to talk with personal trainer, and he came and stood by me, obviously ready to talk more, but he backed off when trainer took me to machines.

Wah, haven't seen him since.

BUT he DID say, in conversation, he had noticed me at water aerobics. What? lol

We've been moved to lap lanes, for swim team, so he must have seen me, attempting to do laps after water class.

Sigh! Good while it lasted.

There's been a few times now that I've been in a store and a young employee goes Could I HELP you with that? whether to get something on a shelf, or carry out items or whatever. I felt SO OLD! But it brightened my day to see a young'un these days working, taking pride in their work, offering to do something they didn't have to (great work ethic) and on top of it being polite and friendly. There's so many spoiled brats out there, it just makes my day to see something like this.
