Yesterday ours was down 10 cents also. Only problem was that it started out higher than yours; it was down from $4.09 to $3.99.

Outrageous that the big oil folks and their supporters can trump up phony shortages and bilk the entire world! I live in a rural area. I use a propane tank for gas heat. It costs around $400 to fill a 250 gallon tank. One is supposed to request a fill-up, when the tank is at 25% and they only fill it 80% because gas can expand. Thank goodness I also have a wood stove to mitigate the cost of the propane. I can get a cord of wood for around $180. I bought a neat device from Lehman's Non-electric catalog (Amish country). It is a small fan, which sits atop the wood stove. It is powered by the heat rising from the stove. The fan is silent and does a good job of spreading heat. Lorna

Ah - but you excel in those areas. Just remember that if you stumble across a fabric that fits your needs it can be crafted into a duvet, coverlet or even a full bedspread. While king size sheets are the easiest due to their overall size even regular cloth cut from a bolt of fabric can be used. We had a quilted coverlet made from a Schumacher fabric based on a historic pattern from the Stencil House at the Shelbourne Museum. The coverlet was sewn with 3 layers - the top layer was the stencil pattern, then a layer of batting and the bottom was a solid that complemented the background color of the stencil. The entire coverlet was then machine quilted outlining the rose and leaf design of the fabric. Since I think you're looking for a solid color duvet 'm sure you'll find exactly the right bed covering without having to resort to having one mad. But it can be done if necessary.

OMG...I was just going to post about this! I just went past the gas station closest to us..a fe wblocks away and it has gone up to 4.26 per gallon! For the cheap stuff! It has always been around 3.98 for the last few weeks. the other corner had it for 4.09. DS just called and said the one by his house actually came down a penny from yesterday, it's now 3.97! This guy will most likely have long lines all week end with lower prices. Smart thing to do..he'll sell more in the long run! I also heard that prices will go up again on Monday...probably because they know people that are out of town will need gas to get home and have to pay it!! This makes me sick! Luckily DH works within 15 minutes from home and we spend only $20.00 a week on gas right now. This is the first I've seen over 4.00 so far....it didn't look nice at all!

We're in expensive suburban Boston territory and after reading these posts, I feel positively over-the-moon now with our $30-32K bids for a master bath ADDITION. Thru our architect we have 3 from top gen contractors. It includes relocating our meter, gas lines & misc complications in the basement. I cannot believe the prices I'm hearing for this stuff. We're getting an addition for an "average master bath remodel" price of $30K++? $1600 for painting a bath?? $6K for demo/tiling a standard alcove tub/shower? I'd love to track the hours and figure out that hourly rate. Elsaduty....The estimate seems neither that high or low to me. Everything is sooo regional, in fact micro-regional as you know. 25 miles out from a major city can drastically reduce rates....that's been our exp. Compared to the crazy prices I'm hearing here, it appears you're not getting ripped off anyway! Have you gotten several bids or just 1? The toughest part is going to be acting as your own GC if you're inexperienced with construction. As mentioned, co-ordination/communication between various contractors ( and you) on how things should be or are done could be tricky and expensive if mistakes have to be corrected. We're pretty exp'd DIY remodelers over 30 yrs and try to anticipate each and every issue that can possibly arise but even with that sometimes you get bitten in the butt! Yes, check refs! Several. We have friends who got royally screwed by a contractor (who the DH considered to be a friend no less) and had to remodel the remodel! VERY expensive.

Gas in town is $4.17 ($4.15 if you use the Maverik card), but when I took Willow in to the vet this morning, it was $4.10 at the truck stop and when I went to pick her up this afternoon, it dropped to $4.08. I filled up Monday on my way to dog class, wouldn't you know it!

Gosh you Easterners are LUCKY!

It's only down a little here..and we have refineries up the ying yang only 20 miles away..so it's not transportation costs..but we have a pretty high tax rate on gas here..
It's 4.21 at AMPM and 4.31 at almost everywhere else.
Hubby said it was ALOT cheaper off the Island, down closer to where he works.

I paid $4.06/gallon it took $31.07 to fill my PT up on Wednesday! I usually don't let my gauge get below 1/2 tank...it was at 1/4 today and I gasped!

I don't know what price is higher to comprehend....

Milk @ $4.25/gallon

Virginia Slims @ $4.05/pkg

Gas @ $4.06/gallon

OR

Miller Lite 12pkg @ $6.99 (sale price) I usually but the
18 pkg of bottles..it was $19.99!

My enjoyments are getting the best of me!

Today the price went from $3.97 to $3.95. There were quite a few cars. This is a station close to my work. I haven't seen it as "cheap" (LOL) anywhere else.
