BBQ'ing vs grilling

To me grilling is just that, grilling

BBQ is slathered in sauce

I don't care for BBQ sauce, except for on little smokies occasionally.

Drives me nutso to watch a cooking show or grilling competition and see someone stab the meat with a huge fork and turn it over (and open the grill) umpteen times. I just want to cry.

You put the meat on the grill and close the lid. Flip it ONCE with tongs or a spatula, never, EVER, piercing the meat and close the lid again until it's time to start checking for doneness.

So, do you grill or BBQ?

Stabber or flipper?

Stand at the grill flipping every 30 seconds or leave it be?
