Comments (1)I took the stand off a regular grill and set in in my counter. Been 8 years with no problems. Just make sure it can breath from the bottom and keep combustible material away when building. I usued metal studs and durarock covered with tile. No wood involved....See MoreRange Grill -- Infrared vs. Gas Burners
Comments (10)We have the Wolf 36 inch rangetop with charbroiler. It does take some getting used to but we love it. We have tried all of the foods that John above mentioned. Key to steaks and fish (salmon steaks) for us has been the brief searing on the grill and finishing in the oven, as he mentioned. Restaurant style, for a reason. We had a real epiphany recently when we did a whole slew of vegetables including Vidalia onions, asparagus, and red peppers. They were beyond fabulous, easy to do, limited smoke/mess. My daughter is planning to grill fuit--we have not tried that yet. We turn on the vent hood (Broan) before the grill, leave the hood running about 20 minutes after finishing, and it pulls out all the fumes. No next-day reminder of the salmon dinner. I don't know about grills other than this one, which every sales person discouraged us from buying. We are happy that we got it. Wolf does wonderful (and free) demonstration dinners at distributor showrooms. Worth seeking out if you live near one, as we do. Good luck!...See MoreBuilt-in grill for outdoor kitchen: Firemagic or Viking?
Comments (5)Out of those 2 the Fire Magic. If you want a real "BBQ" though I would go with some sort of a Kamado type charcoal grill. You can build those in also and they are way better than any gas grill, last a lifetime, can cook anything on them. Smoker, Oven, High Heat Grill. They are ceramic which is better than any metal. I would do something similar to this and maybe have a small Infrared gas grill built in next to it. Or this with the Infrared gas grill just for quick searing. If price were no object I would get the above pair. A Primo extra large oval Kamado with a Solaire Infrared gas grill, although I would opt to get the Solaire Anywhere grill which is Marine Grade 316 stainless steel and you can take it anywhere with you, take it to the beach, camping what ever and it would work perfect for anything I would ever need a gas grill for. Its also much cheaper at around $500. Comes with a nice carrying case. It is also lifetime guarantee. Comments (9)Oh my - I did not mean to scare you all! It functions beautifully. I am just neurotic about having everything look nice. It will never look brand new once you use it. Yes, all the drippings fall into the pan which cleans perfectly. You have to keep in mind that I never cleaned an outdoor grill before. DH did that. I like everything to look perfect. The top of the range and the ovens clean so easily and always look good as new. The grill will have black marks on the grill portion that I can't get off which bugs me. I'm probably unrealistic in that area....See Moreschreibdave
