I feel like screaming!

Stupid new weed eater is not working. I just put it together and the stupid thing won't turn on. I charged the first battery overnight and it's fully charged. The trigger won't depress at all. Not only that but the stupid thing is twisted to the side and won't move any more so the handle is off to the side slightly. I should just learn and hire someone to weed eat my stupid yard.

I prefer a sickle, no mechanical parts to screw up. :)

I almost bought one, Oldgardner, then I got the brilliant idea to buy yet another weed eater.

Ladies may I join you in this discussion? I am a young healthy looking 62. And today is my first visit here after looking up adrenaline I sure understand better now That's what I have going on MY NATURE'S PACE MAKER.working. Adrenaline After a stay in icu heart recently everyone finally agreed i am mot crazy.it was.my heart. The docs installed is a device catch my heart acting badly is a heart tracker like halter monitor. Under my chest muscles on top of my heart. I can cause it record what just happened.. iam write with excitment because your stories are all so familiar. These stories for me begin after mitral valve repair. 7 years ago. Basic problem ..unless the doc sees the heart behaving badly they deny the problem. All this time we never could catch it Last doc said bluntly if we dont see it didnt happen. You must to er Well recent at 230 am it woke me up, just as you have described. I went directly to the er They caught the serious thing! Arrithemia and more then two days in icu. Now meds have slowed my heart from 70 to 52 while docs decide what to do. Last night I realized I was having an adreilin rush. The same rush I went to a neurologist for help. Over a year and half. Often it also affect my skin. Goose bumps crawling feeling all day long! Well have I got news for him.I was not crazy about that either. my gp I visited last month just to say. I know you don't know what is wrong but I still got it. Knows too I sat in neros office two months ago ,,,same thing. I said dr i just want you know ME when I end up in er..and i need you. well it was er straight to icu. Home now with electrical issues. Last last night meds have my average at 52 bpm.it woke me. 2 3 am. I use my tricks to get back to sleep.as soon as felt sleep coming on the stomach feeling spread. It woke me up heart pounding.sweat .out of breath!!! Happened several times . then checked average heart rate on my Garmin. 48. Average 48 so i was probably lower. Maybe 45! My natural pace maker kicked in every time sleep lowered bpm and I was short on air. Natural pace maker? Adrenaline can't wait to see what was recorded on my device Thank you body! Now I think i know what as going on for long time hidden from doc view. Electric shock adrenaline style

No problem, Daylilydayzed. Here it is: Limoncello-Mint Sorbet with Fresh Blackberries Limoncello, the citrusy Italian liqueur, brightens this sorbet. It's nice to have a bottle on hand to splash with soda in a spritzer or macerate with fruit for a quick dessert. 2 cups water 1 1/3 cups sugar 1/2 cup limoncello 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 6 large lemons) 1/2 cup chopped fresh mint 2 cups blackberries Lemon slices (optional) 1. Combine first 3 ingredients in a saucepan over medium-high heat; bring to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat; add lemon juice and mint. Cover and chill. 2. Strain juice mixture through a sieve into a bowl; discard solids. Pour mixture into the freezer can of an ice-cream freezer; freeze according to manufacturer's instructions. Things done improperly should be done again. As for style of things, our builder friend says, "Anything can be changed." But if it wasn't specified in accurate detail in the first place, it will probably cost you. So how much you're willing to change to what you want may depend a lot on how much you're willing to pay. It doesn't sound like you specified pillar and leg details first? Did you see and OK any drawings? Who hired the cabinet maker and had them start? The statement, "no one bothered to ask me what I wanted" worries me. I think it's probably more your responsibility to specify exactly what you want before you have them start work. When I'm paying the bill, I want to make sure what I'm getting is what I expect...and they can only know that by what I order and spell out. With options for details you haven't covered you can always hope they'll ask...but it's not safe to assume.

I don't think it's really fair to compare the 2 spaces. One is a loft with a modern vibe, and the other is much more traditional style rowhouse. While I think there are problems with the first one, I'd still probably choose it to live in over the second. I could fix the issues. Whereas the second one is less to my taste, and making it more my taste would probably ruin it in the opinion of others.

Sorry to hear about your weed eater problems Kath! My husband bought a new gas powered one. I think he used it once. I think it is probably too hard for him to use any more. I have an electric one that I used in the past. I used to use a gas powered one, but I let others do that now.

Soxxxx, none of mine have ever lasted more than a year. My son is coming home either today or tomorrow and look at it. I'm so not mechanically inclined. I'm going to buy a sickle in the meantime.

Personally I hate things like that with rechargeable batteries.. they never have very much power and seem to break down easily. I have better luck with gas or electric yard tools. Hope you get it working.

When do the new students arrive??

I have a cordless one and LOVE it. It has two batteries - and I can usually get everything trimmed with one.

Mine has a "safety" that has to be held down to get it to start. It is a little button on the side of the handle.

I also have a gas powered monster of trimmer and hate it. DH uses it to weed-eat around electric fence - but it is TOO dang heavy for me to use. And a PITA to start!

I have my little cheap old Toro that I've had for about ten years. It's corded, which is no bother. Today we were working at the Memorial garden and the big old gas trimmer wouldn't start, so I smugly went home, got my whacker and lots of cord, and away we went. It did a good job, too. If it ever dies, I'll get another just like it, hopefully.

Sounds like there's a safety lock on the "trigger". Probably some little button that you have to push in first. You should be able to loosen the handle, twist it to the postition that's most comfortable for you then tighten it back up. BTW I was weedeating(gas) all morning...FUN FUN times! NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Weedeating kicks MY AZZ!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Arkansas girl, if I had read through all the instructions I would've seen that. It's working now and my arms feel like lead weights. I'm glad the battery only lasted about 15 minutes.

Our weedeater is old as well, it's gas but too heavy for me to use....that's okay with me! LOL!!!!!
