They are great. We use them for lots of stuff at preschool. Takes scuff marks right off the poor baby dolls.

I never used mine and it dried up, and when I cleaned my running shoes, it all crumbled. But after reading their many uses here, I'm going to buy one and start using it.

They works great. I was helping DD clean her newly purchased house. The previous owner was a widower and his two wild teen/20 something sons. It had not had a good cleaning in eons. The grout on the tiled bathroom counters was dirty, so I wet a Mister Clean Magic Eraser and set about trying to scrub it clean. When the sponge dripped onto the grout, it just bleached it white instantly. It was amazing. I did not have to scrub, rub or anything. We needed something strong, and this stuff is.

Its "Magic" thats all I need to know. The thing makes cleaning a quick task, instead of an all-day-job! I use it on my tennis shoes with no problem. There's a new one for the bathroom, get it! lol

I used it on our stainless steel sink, and I was amazed. It looks like a brand new sink. I had no idea that it was that stained.

They are good to clean your jogging shoes also. When I think about it I try it on everything.

Ya, these 'sponges' are the greatest - I just purchased a box if 2, today - $1.99 at Walmart.

The Magic Eraser is made from melamine foam. Melamine is a resin used in construction and the automotive industry as a sound barrier and flame retardant. It also imparts strength and is used in such products as dinnerware and laminate counter tops. Moistened with water, it adheres slightly to the surface to be cleaned. (Mr. Clean likens this to licking your finger when you turn a page.) Then it is rubbed over the spot or stain. The water breaks down the product into a microscopic polymer abrasive that grabs dirts in the spaces that a regular sponge or brush can't reach.

It's kind of a simple idea, and it works quite well. Essentially it's like a fine sandpaper. But remember it IS an abrasive. So you don't want to use it as a loofah on the baby, nor use it to scrub sensitive crystal, or even glass - it can scratch.

Would you dampen it to clean marks on walls (flat paint) or use it dry?

You need to wet it for it to work.

I cut mine into smaller pieces.

Once you use it, it crumbles pretty fast. I don't use the whole chunck for one small cleanup that way.

It doesn't work so great on flat paint - it leaves marks. Better on gloss or semi gloss finishes. I have had mixed results with eggshell finish paint.

Whenever I've used it on a wall, it has left a film on it. It can be seen when the light hits the wall, at an angle. I won't use it on walls again. Maybe on high gloss painted walls, but mine aren't.

I find a slightly damp miracle cloth cleans walls better than an eraser. I get all kinds of dog gunk on one hallway we use for indoor fetch. A wet and wrung out miracle cloth does just fine. The Magic Eraser would be fine for the occasional crayon mark but I wouldn't use it for general wall cleaning.

Shelterpops has a nice list of what Magic Eraser can be used for. Remember to keep it damp when you're using it or it will just crumble away.

It did a wonderful job on my stove's glass window.

I cleaned my microwave vents spotless last night, based on the above poster's suggestion - thanks for that - I've been using every imaginable product to get the grease off the air exchange vent, and now it SPARKLES!!!! I use mine mostly to clean the bath tub - works like MAGIC!
