I like it also especially a fried bologna sandwich. I usually buy it in the deli counter and get one of the top brands like Boars head.

another thing I LOVE that is called bologna but is more of a summer sausage type meat is Lebanon bologna. OH man that is some great stuff, I can eat a lot of it just rolled up as a snack. Give it a try some time ask your deli counter for a sample.

The only type around here I don't eat. That mushy stuff make from LT&A... (shudder) uh-uh. Not me. Now that one ravencajun showed - that looks edible to me. I like salami, summer sausage, thuringer and the like.

I was sicker than a dog while pregnant with dd3 and one of the only things I could eat was a bologna sandwich on white bread with mustard. Yuck, haven't eaten it since!

Everyday (for many years) when I opened my lunchbox at school, there is was. I vowed never to eat it again lol.

I like to keep Butterball turkey bologna around for quick lunches. I'm not a big fan of lunch meat or sausages, but we ate enough bologna growing up that I like that!

I love bologna. Love it fried or on a sandwich with mayo, butter and potato chips (called the "heart attack special") and like garlic bologna ground up and made into ham salad. Boar's Head is great, but Oscar Mayer will do, too.

I like it only when it's all beef and preferably from the deli. Love it on toast with mustard or on good buttered rye bread.

I like an all beef bologna now and then, and just yesterday ground some up as patti said, and made Lutheran funeral sandwiches, the name my kids gave them when they were younger!

All beef German bologna on Pepperidge Farm Soft Oatmeal bread with French's yellow mustard and Swiss cheese. Mmmmmm!!

Used to make this for son when he was growing up: fry it on one side until it forms a cup. No cutting slits

Place it on lettuce and put potato salad in the cup.

Nice for a Saturday afternoon lunch.

Visited Donna OH number of years ago and she took me to Amish country where we stopped and had lunch. I had Trail Bologna.

Nothing like I ever had before. Memory of having it has not gone away.

Fried bologna sammies transport me to the apartment mom and I lived in after she and I moved back to Johnstown. I didn't know that we ate them because that was all mom could afford. I loved them.

LOL @ Phyllis . . . my kids call them "funeral sandwiches" too - ground up with dill pickles and Miracle Whip. I thought it was so funny when one of them requested 'funeral sandwiches' to be included in their graduation party spread :)

OK, confession time here . . . my usual breakfast is a piece of oscar mayer turkey bologna on a piece of bread with lots of mustard . . . love the stuff! (but don't like regular bologna :)

Most bologna has the same ingredients as most hot dogs so I love hot dogs but haven't had bologna for years.

I like Lebanon bologna, very occasionally.
But can't insult it by putting that ugly pale pinkish baloney, made from meat scraps that aren't even fit for hot dogs.

Oh my, we love bologna...And Lebanon Bologna was a favorite when growing up, but it has to be good old style, Lebanon Balogna...I bought some not too long ago at our local meat market and it just wasn't the same....Now you have my mouth watering......

i went to a one room country school and we had baloney sandwiches everyday except Fridays because we were catholic and couldnt eat meat on Fridays. Every once in a while I will get a craving for it with Miracle Whip and maybe lettuce and cheese on bread. Once I tried a slice of baloney with vanilla sandwich cookies in it for a sandwich that was really good.

Growing up we seldom had bologna, I guess we were too poor!

The only way I'll eat it is fried up, served on rye bread with spicy mustard. That's especially good when the bologna is still warm.

Oscar Meyer on soft white bread, mayo only. Sometimes crush potato chips on the sandwich.

Love it fried with lots of cucumbers, hmm, so good on toasted bread with either miracle whip or mayo.

I go in spurts...especially if I'm around my sister...she loves Bologna and so we usually will buy a small package and down it...usually Oscar Mayer Beef with Miracle Whip and maybe a piece of cheese and lettuce...it's been months since I had any and now you've got it on my mind!!

I have been able to find it an most of the good deli counters if not I ask them to get it, the boars head is quite good. I have only had the original would love to try the others.

I haven't had any in years but did like it. It was a staple in Mom's kitchen.I think of hot dogs as little Bolognas

DD loves ground bologna sandwiches, it sounds like some of you call them "funeral sandwiches" it is made by grinding bologna and pickles in the meat grinder, then adding mayo. It is like ham salad, but with bologna. We eat it for lunch on Thanksgiving day...go figure.

Grocery deli's around here sell sandwich spread, ham salad but made with bologna. I make it using my food processor.
