The professional advice on storing hard cooked eggs is that they should be used in 3 days.

The things you need to remember are: if you cook the eggs ahead of time, you're taking storage off the 'back end' of the devilled eggs. That is, if your event is Sat., and you cook the eggs on Thursday, the leftovers should be used up by Sunday. I presume you mean to cook the eggs ahead, and then make the devilled eggs the day of the party, yes? I would NOT make up the devilled eggs more than a few hours ahead--they get too funky-looking (dry surface) if they sit very long. They look old if not made up fresh.

I have been buying the pre-cooked hardboiled eggs and I love them! They are peeled and sealed two per pack - 6 eggs in a container.

They are perfectly cooked - no grey in the yolk - yuck! They are just awesome for deviled eggs. You just cut them in half and make the "devil" and put it back in.

I like having the pre-cooked eggs on had for a quick snack for the kids.

I would leave them in the shell in the refrigerator after cooking them, then peel them and fix them the day you will serve them.

I love deviled eggs.

For holidays I boil the eggs, peel, half and take out the yellows and put them in a zip baggie. I make the deviled egg part and store it in a container in the fridge. The next morning I fill the egg whites and dust with paprika. For holiday cooking I do all I can do the day before. My family loves deviled eggs and other than holidays, I make them that day, but I can't tell a difference if made the day before or day of.
