Homemade crayons

I'm wondering if anyone has tried "recycling" their old broken crayons. I've seen plenty of recipes on the internet, where you fill up cupcake cups with the crayone pieces and bake in the oven. I'm just wondering how easily they come out of the tin? I have one nice cookie mold that is heart shaped and would make cute crayons, but I"m scared to try. Of course I'd rather not ruin a pan over a little project like this. IF not, it would be nice to be able to bend the warm crayon into a shape or roll into a stick which they could easily hold.

Any advice?

TIA,

Teresa
