Update on Kasey

She sounds great this morning! I asked how the babies were doing...she said Johna (3) is waking up at night crying for her daddy but she calms her and all is good!

She said Levi is in a mood today and I told her....that she needs to remember....in her down and hard times that she is going to say wow it would just be easier if I go back...but I told her...I said those beautiful girls will grow up and be punching bags for men and verbarlly abused and Levi will grow up to be a abusiver if you don't stop the cycle now!!! And with her counsiling I am praying...I find myself getting down at times thinking I don't want to get MY hopes up as I have done before...but I say nothign of this to her.....anyways again THANKS to everyone for your continued support and thoughts and prayers and everything everyone has ever done here for her the kids and my family!!! Know is is hard, but Kasey will make it with all the support she has.

It will definitely be an adjustment and time needed for EVERYONE to realize what they left behind was crazy and wrong.
The older children may be angry right now, but they will shortly realize how terrifying life was with Dad around.

22 is probably the number of breaths he is getting per minute. Or it could be the amount of Oxygen he is on which would be very little since 21 is what we are breathing and you can go up to 100% oxygen so my guess it is the breaths per minute on the ventilator. What we would do with the babies is gradually wean the rate down on the ventilator until they were just on CPAP (Constant Positive Airway Pressure). This is just blowing air constantly into the lungs to make them easier to expand. Imagine a balloon, it is easier to inflate if there is already a bit of air inside instead of having to reinflate the whole thing. They will likely keep him on CPAP for at least a few hours/day before taking out his breathing tube. That is unless he pulls it out himself in which case they likely would give him a trial without it to see if he really needs it.

How tragic, Stacy. Will you be going to the court, too? I hope that Lee doesn't know where Stacy is. I do imagine that her parental rights will soon be terminated, as well, and I'm so, so sorry for you and the children. But - as you know, Kasey has chosen this lifestyle for herself. I'm not saying she's a bad person. She's made bad decisions and her children have suffered for it. I hope that they're doing as well as can be expected in foster care. I applaud you for your "tough love" when she didn't come home (to your home) the other night. You stood up against enabling her; good for you. Keep us posted; we're pulling for you. Suzieque

My heart goes out to you in your moments of despair which is totally understandable when you look around and see so many with their children on the right path. Know that you're not alone, go to Al-Anon please. Addicts are just people who can't stop doing what they do. We can relate to them if we think of giving up foods we love or cigarettes or coffee etc. It's not easy and it's not because we're weak, it's because the yearning is ruling our brain. I will pray that your Kasey can find the strength to realize that she's on the road to losing more than just her children. In the meantime you need to surrender to God. Know that He is on your side. Do what you can to make yourself accept and realize you had no part in her addiction, it was just a very bad choice that has it's grip on her. Way down inside her, she yearns to stop but the drugs rule. Say your prayers and then just let it be. You're a good woman and she knows it. She loves you but the drugs are making her love them over others. In time I feel she'll recover. God bless you and your husband.

You do know that, with Kasey, being clean is only the first step. She will need long term counseling to realize how and why she fell for a controlling and abusive partner, and how to avoid it in the future. Telling her is not enough, she has to recognize it for herself in order to avoid it happening again. All you can do is support her, and we all can pray for strength for her to be successful. I hope and pray that you can retain contact with her children, but they will also need professional help to avoid the same path Kasey has taken (and hopefully can change course). Prayers for you all.

Continued Prayers for Kasey and the kids! I think your wise not saying anything to Kasey about getting YOUR hopes up. This is about Kasey and the kids. This is her journey and she has to walk it..with YOUR support. Hopefully she will stick to her decision..no matter how hard it is or seems!

The only life those kids have ever known is now totally different. It will be an adjustment for them.
It won't be long before they sense the calm around them and see a big difference in their mommy.
All you can do Stacy is encourage her that she is doing the right thing and support her...the rest is up to her.
God Bless her for taking this first step. Remind her how much strength that took.

Stacy, I've not been here long enough to know all the details, but gosh what a relief to have your daughter away from an abuser. I'll pray she's strong enough to carry through with leaving that part of her life behind. God bless here and her babies.

I hope Kasey finds the strength to move on. If she won't do it for herself, then hopefully she will do it for her kids.

Each day I hope Kasey thinks " A new day, a new life" and continues on the right path for her sake and that of the children. My thoughts and prayers are with her, Stacey, and with you.
