Michael's sale on Cricut cartridges

I read an e-mail from Michael's and it said their Cricut cartridges are on sale for $40 each thru August 2nd. It also says if you buy three you can get a free " Design Studio Software. " From the way I read it though I think you have to buy it then get a rebate for it. I may be wrong about that.

I also go a 20% off coupon for the total purchase of regularly priced items.

I have the Cricut and the Design Studio software. I bought them on sale at Wal Mart a couple of months ago, but haven't opened them yet. I refuse to do so until I get myself into that room that's going to be my craft room and get it in some kind of order. That is on my schedule for things to do this fall when it starts getting too cool to stay outside.

I plan to buy three cartridges, but have no idea which ones to buy. I know I want to get a Disney one because I have pictures to put into a scrapbook from this summer's trip to WDW and a previous trip there.

Does anyone have any suggestions about two others that would be good for various scrapbooking pages and cards?

I guess no one here knows which cartridges would be the best to buy. :(

I don't know anything about them.LOL I did see the Cricut machine on HSN a couple of days ago.You might check there too for accessories.They have a lot of stuff.

I am the least crafty person I know. Years ago, my girlfriends and I used to get together every Thursday night for a craft night and to watch "Survivor" (when it first came on), and I would be the girl who bring her mismatched sock basket to work on as my "craft". I was good at buying craft supplies, just not a doing crafts, LOL. A few years ago I struck up a friendship with a girl who was a scrapbook sales rep, and she got me started scrapbooking. My first two projects involved scrapping all my dd's years of dance pics, and my son's hockey pictures, and I now have two amazing keepsakes for them. Sometimes I get a little overwhelmed - we have so many photos, I don't think I could ever get them all scrapbooked. But I enjoy the work in progress :) Carrie

Here is what my daughter had to say about the one I was trying to tell you about. the craft robo. it is about 300 or 350 I think, I can't remember. Closer to 3. Anyway you can cut out any shape or font there is. You can even download the pdf files of all the cricut cartridges and cut out any thing from them, so you dont have to pay 60+ each for them. (For some reason 278.00 is coming to mind.) The only drawback is, that it has to be hooked up to a computer so it is not as portable as the cricut. When you take 200 for the machine (cricut) and add 2 cartridges you have spent more money and have very limited amount of things to cut.

Hi Everyone, sounds like alot going on in everyone's life. I had traings this week and late nights so the week flew by and I'm so Happy it's Friday night. We are going to end up with record sales this month, it's great except I feel exhausted by the end of the days. Is this an age thing or what??? Luvs, amazing how you need to get out in the yard and trim. I'm hoping the snow stays away so I can clean out the rest of my flower beds soon. I know I couldn't keep up with a longer growing season. Anj, I have serveral of the books you mentioned. You really got a great deal with them. Will be looking forward to all your projects you come up with. Your valentine projects are pretty cute. I think the hearts with the arrows are the cutest ones I've ever seen. It will be fun to see how you paint your reindeer and snowflakes. Love to hear of such good buys. Means one has money for more, right?haha I'm jealous your getting your Spring cleaning done but know what you mean by dust. I don't live in the desert but still have lots of dust bunnies at our house. I'm going to try to get more things ready to donate next week. Bebe, hows the sick kids with strep doing? So happy you sold your tea box. I don't remember seeing it. Did you post it on here? Belle, I've only recently heard about the outdoor Mod Podge, so don't know all the details on it yet. I don't usually use sealer over it unless it still feels a bit tacky after drying overnight. I like the kind that is white and dries clear. The gloss one stinks too much! LOL Anj, sorry your computer is giving you troubles. The pics are there, haven't moved them or anything. Besides Disney, my daughter loves the Paper Dolls cartridge.
Pooh and friends is cute too. She and I both have the Fabulous Finds and like it real well. A friend of mine likes Walk in the Garden.I think I would like Doodle Charms.

It really depends upon what you will be doing...scrapbooking, cardmaking, etc.

Thanks Linda. I'll be using them for both scrap books and cards. I wrote those down. I hope I get to go to Michael's tomorrow; if not I'll definitely go Tuesday.

Linda, I have two Disney cartridges thus far. I also have a tags one, and one that is called mixed up I think.... used it the other night. I also have one of winter letters etc... and I have George and tags.... I would need to pull them all out. I need to go see what they have as I would love to get some cursive type cartridge. I really need to start scrapping again, as I am so far behind.

My Cricut was a gift from my daughter and "other daughter" (son-in-law) and although I do enjoy it, I swear I can cut most things out faster by hand. LOL Now my Cuttlebug I would not be without. I just love all the embossing folders. I am not into scrapbooking, but make lots and lots of cards. I also have a Sizzix and those diecuts can be used in the Cuttlebug.

Linda, now you've done it!! Now I have to check out Cuttlebug to see if I need to put it on my Birthday/Christmas/whatever list. I've seen them, but haven't actually taken the time to really look at them. I bought a Cricut because it's the one I've heard the most about and it was on sale.
I also appreciate the information about the Sizzix diecuts. I didn't know they worked with Cuttlebug.

I love the "Christmas and More" one. (I think that is the name of it), but it has cute Christmas things....the Cricut I have is the one that uses 6 x 12 paper...I would love to have the one that uses 12 x 12 paper, but I already have this other one. The bigger one will cut chip board and also you can buy ink cartridges for it and print things right on your paper....

mscsippy, you would just LOVE the Cuttlebug...nonelectronic, lightweight, easy to carry, embossing folders are only $4.99 with a few at $5.99. If you want to email me, I can give you the link to the "Sandwich Stack List" which tells what plates to use with what diecuts. Besides the Sizzix dies, you can use Nesabilities and many other brands.

Here are just some of the cards I have made using the embossing folders.
