I am also amazed at the price of cereal. Why???

And the crazy typing thing -- I guess some of it is younger people who do a lot of that text messaging code, but why the mixed-up capitals & lower-case, or all capitals?

I was just noticing the box tearing problems on a cookie box the other day. I think the design is poor.

As far as shrinking, bad luck but it's happened to me too. I just got some white jeans that fit well and I'm almost afraid to wash them.

I want to know why:
There is always a tissue hidden in a pocket of something when I'm doing dark clothes in the washer...Even after you've searched through those pockets...
You never get company when the house is nice and clean.....

See, now I think cereal is cheap--even with the prices rising, because of the number of servings you get from a box. Several meals from one box, for just $3-4-5--Seems pretty reasonable to me. (same with eggs--where else can you get 12 servings of protein for $2-3? I hear loads of people commpain about the price of eggs, but they're still loads cheaper than eating meat.
Although, I do have the problem with the cereal bags (and potato chip bags, and loads of others) ripping the wrong way often.

I havbe trouble opening milk cartons. The top always sticks and rips.

What is it with some people in check out lines? As the items are being scanned they just stand there like a bump on a log, or a lump on a bog. Then, the checker says, "That'll be 47.89." Now, they first start fumbling around for a credit or debit card. Or start hunting for the elusive checkbook. And next, "Where is my pen?" Do they not realize that they are going to have to pay for the items? Are they hoping it's freebie day?

Cereal is high due to the cost of the grain, and of shipping the grain to the factory. Plus, the additives,vitamins, raisins, bananas, strawberries, sugar (in some) etc.
The box tearing could be to much hot melt (glue). Maybe use a knife to slide between the top flap and the bottom one. Those plastic bags are supposed to keep the cereal fresher, and keep moisture out.

Now, why do I always pick up the item without the tag that's needed to price it. Or the checker runs out of receipt paper and has to change it before checking me out.

Ron - I'm with you. As soon as I take my items out of the wagon to be scanned, I take out my money. What's so hard about doing that, people???

I'm with you all about the cereal bags. I've had many a time when the stuff just goes flying.

What I always wonder about is, why do people have to yell into their cell phones on the train? I laugh when the person says into the phone, "can you hear me"? Someone invariably says "we can all hear you!".

We always buy the store brand cereals, save a lot of money that way and it's just as good, can't tell the difference at all. I think cereal has been high for the last 15 years or so. It's just HIGHER now, because of the corn prices.

I wonder why jeans that are sized petite just barely fit me in length, but regular sized ones are 5" too long? And why can't Woody remember that my jeans cannot go into the dryer or they will be shorts? lol

I also wonder why people don't use their turn signals. It's not like it's costing them to use them. Sheesh.

And WHY oh WHY do people still litter? Don't they have a trash can at home, work or outside wherever they're going? Of course they do. So rude and senseless.

Another question.....why are there loops on the backs of sneakers/running shoes?

How come the law says we must strap our babies into approved car seats when riding in a car (a very good law, IMO), but parents are permitted to let their little ones sit on their laps in airplanes? I've never understood that one--seems both dangerous and annoying for the parent to have to hold them the whole way.

About those child restraint seats...I wonder why children on school buses don't have seat belts.

Mscsippy -- good question about seat belts on school buses.
In our Los Angeles district, the bus drivers have access to sets of seat belts on a long strap that can be buckled around the standard bench seats. Those are only required for field trips for pre-K classes. Why not for everyone???
