I got the tickets to Elton John!!! Yay!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday we pulled out our old snorkeling equipment and decided that it needed to be replaced. I had already bought a new snorkeling mask that has a camera (640 video and 8 megapixel stills), but the piece that holds the snorkel to both Kevin's and my masks was broken, Kevin only had bodyboarding fins, and one of my snorkeling fins had a tear in the back. My snorkeling equipment dated back to 1977 when I first started going to Cozumel, and so it is over 30 years old (hard to believe). Anyway, we went to Sports Chalet because they have the best selection of scuba equipment (and also have classes), and it was close. While there I bought a new mask because I liked the fit and color (clear with a translucent aqua stripe around the lens), a new snorkel (clear, to match the new mask), new fins (silver - don't match, but had to get what they had in my size), and then I decided to ask about a camera that we could use on our mountain bikes. I was standing in front the the display for the cameras when I asked if they had any - I often cannot see things that are right in front of me. I ended up buying a gopro camera that is also waterproof and will take 1080 HD video as well as still photos, but I plan to use it only for video. It came with a helmet mount, as well as a surfboard and handlebar mount, but I decided to order a chest mount to go with it, which was not expensive. I did have to buy the memory separately, and that was not so cheap. I had to buy memory for the mask camera as well, but I had already ordered that. I also got a couple of spare batteries. Wanted to share 2 quick highlights: - geting a foot massage at the Robert Mondavi Solaire booth while enjoying some nice wine and chocolate truffles --> heavenly - finishing up the afternoon with some freshly made rosemary poached salmon with cranberry-lentils and celeriac puree, after watching a cooking seminar Enjoyed myself thoroughly, w/out anyone demanding my time needing something or another (diaper change or sippy cup, etc).

We are traveling to China in the near future & DH & I got our passports last year no prob because we had expired passports that we could give instead of birth certificates. Our DD only had an original BC that I didn't want to give up. (Never know!!!) So, we said we'd wait on hers until we had a cert. copy of her BC. Well, we rec'd that back in Oct/Nov. & still have yet to get her passport! Have an appt to do so on Monday & get this taken care of! I've heard that the passport turnaround time is taking a lot longer than it did last year due to the new rules & more people applying. So, if we think we will be traveling in the next 3 months, we will ask to have it expedited. Even with all this trouble...I think it is a good idea to req. passports. And Mary...you did all you could & even followed up with those people. Wonder what would have happened had you not called at all? Glad you got to do something. On a positive note, you will now be ready to go if something fun like that comes up again. :)

LOL, thanks all. I don't know if I'll be able to take pics, most concerts I've been to have not allowed cameras in (silly celebrities). The seats are pretty good (actually we didn't have much choice in way of seating since we need the wheelchair seating and that is limited but not a bad location).

If you can't take pictures, please memorize every move and costume he wears just so you can describe his every costume to us. Oh, yes, we'll also want to know his repretoire of songs ......and also what spectacles he wears....

Forget it....take pictures it's easier...lol

Awesome! I got a pair for my sister, too - they're not fantastic seats, kind of to the side of the stage, but they're just happy to have gotten any. The concert sold out in less than an hour. That's crazy!

Oh Karen, you are so lucky. The closest I'll ever get to him is "Pinball Wizard" on my IPod. Have fun and just block out the thought of me weeping with jealousy...ROFL, seriously have a great time. When is the concert?

OMG! Lucky you! your gonna have so much fun!!!!!

We saw him last year in Omaha, floor seats ,smack dab in the middle isle. He was sitting at his piano right in front of that isle, we were so happy to be there. For anyone who couldn't see as well, although most seats were fine places to sit,,he had two huge screens up high for an even better veiw! Me, my dh and another couple who love Elton's music had the best time. I would love to go back!!!
This was his Rocketman tour and the Rocketman song took about 20 mins to finish,,at least that much. I'm laughing now thinking back how I had my phone on for my son so he could listen to a couple songs. By the time Benny and the Jetts came on we were howling out the lyrics. I didn't think it was too loud on the floor but some friends way up high said it was ear splitting.

When are you going?--It's time to rip some EJ music to the ipod and start practicing every song!

The concert is October 3rd. I know almost every lryic to every song, I've been a fan since high school. This is his "Rocket Man - Number Ones" tour.

What a year this will be for me, London England for a week in September and an Elton John concert in October!
