I am trying to stay cool, like many here. I had breakfast with my parents, then brought thier laundry home to do for them. I'm still trying to figure out what I am going to make for dinner tonight. I don't think I will be lucky enough to talk DH into taking me out two nights in a row!

I am going to WalGreens to make copies of some old family pictures, to share at a reunion. I bought a new bathroom shower curtain and since I have had it for 5 or 6 months, I think I'll get that put up. DH does some facilitating and instruction at the VA, so this is my day to do what pleases me. I do have raspberries to pick and freeze but watering of garden is all done. Have a good day what ever you chose.

I am sitting here thinking up new things for Frog to get into, then figuring out what I will need for props or set materials to make the photo.

I have been working in my yard. First, weeded around my new tree in the front (it gets sunny there early), then I dug a hole, and set a sleeve for a laundy line thing a ma gig.. you know, the kind that unfolds, and has lots of lines.

Then I dug out more Bermuda grass. I come in ever so often, for a bit of cooling off, and something to drink, and also to peek in here at the KT.

I am about had it. I am bushed. It's after 12 now, and I need some lunch.

Guess I better get out and put my tools away first.

I think, I will do some sewing this afternoon.

I'm waiting for the rainstorm to pass while sitting in my car outside the county jail, where I have just finished doing bail arguments by videoconference.

Fixin' to get off from the computer and do some machine knitting. Then, need to do the laundry.

Well it's 3:30 here now. So far today I have gone to the grocery store, drugstore, dollar store and thrift store. Dropped lunch off to my hubby who is at work. Went for a walk in the Botanical Garden with my macro lens and took pics of all the flowers. Emptied the dishwasher, just cleaned the water cooler and will make supper in a couple of hours. While we eat supper we will watch Jeopardy that we taped off last night. I have a Christmsa gift to wrap for my friend (she is coming for a visit this weekend and I may not see her again before Christmas so I will give it to her then).

Did a little gardening, picked a few vegetables (cucumbers, squash and onions), watered my potted flowers.

I've also been watching the Doppler Radar and saw lots of rain going south of us, just like yesterday's went north. We have well over an 8 inch deficit so far this year, here in eastern New York State.

Well, it was 100 by lunchtime, so as you can imagine, not much.

Did a little work on the computer this morning--dashed off a column and sent it to my editor. Did some paperwork, etc. Then DH was unpacking some of his stuff in the basement, went down and kept him company for a bit, neatening and placing a few things in the family room. An "old" neighbor called to say they were coming to our open house on Saturday--had a nice chat with her. Had lunch, made up a grocery list.

Have a meeting at the newspaper at 5, then DH and I agreed we'd go out to dinner, since it's too hot to cook, and I never know how long I'll be there, anyway.

Well, this morning was weekly trip to Wegman's for groceries, put them away, then changed and came here (swim club).
It's 98 degrees here, and the heat index is 113....got to get back into the water !

I spent the better part of the day playing bridge in an church basement that wasn't air conditioned. It did pass the time but I am glad to be home in my comfortable house. I guess I will pack a few more boxes before I make dinner and settle down in front of the tv. I am moving in 10 days.

slow start to the day...but did get gas for the car, and made a wm stop for pizza sauce...didn't have the kind i like (heart smart) so went thru the ones till i found the lowest sodium...then got caught in the rain..actaully sat in the car in the driveway just enjoying it...didn't last long enough but hope we did get enough dh won't have to water our shrubs tonight...
marilyn you must be watering a ton, to get any produce at all...i havn't a clue where they're getting "mi" corn we keep seeing...my dd's lawn in south bend is awful...

Had an eye Dr. appointment to check pressure etc. Good results, cataracts have not changed. Good news, Picked up new towel bar at Menard's, to replace one hubby broke when he fell getting out of the shower. Slipped on wet floor, as rug was placed wrong. Hit his head and sprained his ankle. Had to go to ER to get checked out. Then picked up prescription, ate lunch and home in a cool house. Hot today.

So far.....made DH's lunch, made the bed, went to work(4hr shift). Put jalapenos & cheese on 2 bagels and did a "pig out" for lunch, vanilla ice cream for dessert. Checked online to buy DH a camera once it's available...still out of stock....stupid Nikon! Trying to buy fire flower seeds, can't find them, I'll have to look up the botanical name. Watered deck pots, filled hummingbird feeders. Checked email. Getting ready to vacuum the house, then do a load of laundry. Then a one hour work out in my home gym. By then DH will be home, I'll fix him a snack, then I'm serving left over veal/hamburgers for dinner. Then I monitor several group queues on FLICKR(I check them about every 45 minutes).

Thunder in the distance, to pool was closed and no water class.

Lunched with dear friend! I'm traveling and she'll be traveling when I get back.

Drove my aunt and her little dog to the dog groomers at noon, she dropped him off, then we stopped at Dollar General on the way home. She made plans with her daughter to pick up the dog later in the afternoon.

After that, I came home and have basically been sitting in this warm house all day, on and off the computer, trying to find something on the boob tube to watch. It was so hot outside, you couldn't even go out for more than a few minutes. I get so restless, can't stand to sit for too long. Finally thunderstorms rolled in but we only got sporadic down pours. Temp goes up, then down, then back up, now it's down to 75 again. It's a wonder we don't have worse storms or a tornado.

Son and his fiance were visiting yesterday and today. Yesterday I went with her for her first bridal gown fitting at the seamstress', and she ordered a veil too.

Today we went to the dressmaker's to have some sexy nightgowns, which my sister's friend gave her, fitted to her better.

In the meantime, whle we were doing that, our son ordered her wedding ring at the jewelers. We had quite a whirlwind 24 hours.

Everyone has been busy today.

Marie, so sorry about your hubby got injured. Hope he gets well soon. At least, your eye exam turned out okay.

I finished my laundry and machine knitting project. Time to show it off.... ;)

Relaxing a little right now. It's after 8 pm. I stayed late into the morning last "night", playing stupid computer games. I'm on vacation right now so I guess I can do what I want-lol. Finally went to bed around 6:30 only to be woken up a couple hours later by Lauren. She has trouble getting up early so I told her if she wanted her driving permit SHE would have to come wake me up today, I wouldn't be the one trying to get her up this time. Well, she was up and nearly ready to go. So, we went to get her permit then went to breakfast just her and I.

We stopped by the high school to ask about changing a class of hers. The old French teacher has resigned, so now she wants to take another year of it. She was really hateful to Lauren and her friend. Lot of issues with certain students she didn't like, and they were two of them. Lauren was going to give up the big diploma to avoid this one teacher. She had to have four years of the same foreign language to get that diploma. I'm glad the teacher has left. They haven't hired the new one yet. Then I let her drive around the parking lot at school and home. SCARY!

So, then we came home and I've been going through old clothes and things left by our exchange students. I have a trunk-full of clothes to give to Goodwill. I moved my clothes into the back bedroom where Maria is staying so that when she leaves I can just move in that room.

Alex is getting ready to move out of the small bedroom into an apartment next week. We decided at the last minute to get another exchange student so I'm trying to get that room cleared out of my stuff. Will have to wait for Alex to move to finish it, though. All his stuff is piled up in there too. This exchange student is male, from Turkey. We are hoping to avoid drama this year! LOL!

Alex is at work, Lauren is sleeping (she didn't go to bed until late last night too), Maria has been helping me with the house and cutting up my old fat t-shirts for rags. A big storm just went through too. I'm already tired of the rain. I want the drought back.
